How is Nintendo not allowing streamers to use their games & make money off of it without Nintendos permission a controversy ? It is Nintendos right to not allow this

tazmeah2423d ago

Well, the Nintendo Creators Program was created so content creators could create content featuring Nintendo's games and still earn a small percentage of ad revenues (Nintendo pockets the rest). What's the point of a "Creators" Program if they restrict people from creating content via live stream? Does Nintendo prefer not making any money via ad revenues as opposed to pocketing a majority of the revenue from a stream?

DillyDilly2423d ago (Edited 2423d ago )

Most people use Adblockers now that block ads on sites like Youtube thats kind of a mute point. So what does Nintendo gain when most block ads & never see them ?

tazmeah2423d ago

Why have the Nintendo Creators Program then?

DillyDilly2423d ago

Why are people still complaining about this like the idiots in the video if thats what the Creators Program is for ? Why are people still turning this into an issue if they have The Creators Program ? Is it because they dont wanna share earnings with Nintendo or something ?

tazmeah2423d ago

"Why are people still turning this into an issue if they have The Creators Program ? Is it because they dont wanna share earnings with Nintendo or something ?"

The issue is the Creators Program was Nintendo's way of saying "Fine, create content. We get a majority of the ad revenues, and you'll get a fraction"

But now, people who want to live stream (who have accepted Nintendo's policy) can't because of poorly explain reasoning. Nintendo won't allow content creators (who earn Nintendo ad revenue) live stream. It's literally Nintendo saying "we don't want the money". It has nothing to do with content creators not wanting to share money, because they already agreed to share it by joining the Nintendo Creators Program in the first place. I'm curious as to why your so defensive for Nintendo when they themselves haven't explained why they're doing this.

DillyDilly2423d ago (Edited 2423d ago )

Why should Nintendo or any company allow people to make money off of their employees work & without their permission ? Its understandable why Nintendo is not allowing this. Im curious why people dont understand this simple fact & its not helping Nintendo either when people put the full game online as well in the form of cutscenes, walkthroughs etc

tazmeah2423d ago

I'll ask again....why did Nintendo create the Nintendo Creators Program...if they don't want people streaming and creating content featuring their games? Nintendo isn't helping themselves by starting programs like this then are they?

DillyDilly2423d ago

It is any company's right to not want people making money off of THEIR PRODUCTS & Nintendo did make it & its still not enough. People need to from this as all companies like Nintendo have their rights as well

F*** AI

"Hey Copilot, what's a good meme to prove I dislike AI".... https://giphy.com/clips/sou...

Two trillion dollar company that just can't wait to put as many people possible out of work as fast as possible.

It feels like every single thing they do is making gaming worse and destroying the industry.

Why all the hate? Im actually excited about this! Always wanted this kind of immersion, and an AI companion with me all the time helping me out knowing the status of my skills/inventory/progress and giving me tips on the best approach or how to craft something specific is game changing for the industry.

Hate all you want about AI, but this is just the start and I can see the potential already. You wont be complaining in the next 5-10 years about this, but rather complain if a game hasn’t implemented it.

Yes we can't wait for the work of others to be used without the need to pay them so that MS can profit even more from the people they fire.

I_am_Batman8h ago(Edited 8h ago)

There is no chance I'd ever use something like this, especially if it's not part of the core game design, but a layer on top of it. It's way too much handholding. Many games already feel like busy work, because they don't let the player figure things out on their own. Having a real-time interactive guide defeats the purpose of playing the game in the first place in my opinion.

If this were to become the standard like you predict, we'll see more and more video games get away with bad design, because people will just be used to ask for help from the AI companion anyway.

Number1TailzFan7h ago

Well Nintendo don't need this with some of their games these days, with invincible characters, items, easy bosses etc.. they do the hand holding built in

helicoptergirl7h ago

Takes "hand holding" in games to a whole new level.
