I would definitely enjoy a Xenogears remaster. Recently finished Legend of Dragoon again (this time with platinum trophy) and would love to dive back into Xenogears with Fei and the rest of the crew.
It needs more than a remaster though, I hope they can turn disc 2 into a full game..

I would think it'd eventually hit all the platforms much like the Front Mission 1st Remake. That way no one would be 'bitching' regardless of your platform preference lol.
They don't need the original people , they already have the foundation of characters ,world and lore to work off of.
Honestly it's not that big of a game if you really examine it by modern standards , it's how they present everything that makes it seem so grand especially with how epic the story/music is . SE have good writers that could incorporate post release lore of perfect works and such if they ever remade it from the ground up.
Square Enix classics? dont they mean Squaresoft. Square Enix dont make classic games, just games with pretty graphics, no heart & soul, boring & over stuffed with woke Gen Z cockiness.
But while were on the subject i would love too see a remaster of Front Mission 3.
They already announced a Front Mission 3 remake. Doubt they'll also do a remaster.
I will get the remake but i still want a remaster cos with all remakes they lose a lot of the original magic the original game had.
Pretty sure its going to be a remaster of the game, similar to what's been done with the first two games, not a remake.
FF7r is certainly more a remake of FF7 than a remaster for instance.

Yeah they call it a remake like "Front Mission 1st Remake" but I'd consider it more of a remaster as it doesn't change any of the core gameplay but basically just sharpens up the graphics. I think they added a couple of new features also but I still think it's more of a remaster.
Like @Godmars290 suggested, FF7Remake fits the mold of a remake since they 'remade' the game from the ground up, changing the battle system completely, and retelling the story with a lot of different elements added.
But I guess they can call it what they want since they're making it lol.
Exactly. SquareSoft merged with Enix shortly after Final Fantasy X and it has never been the same.

Someone was just calling for a Gex remake here on N4G recently, which I was 100% in support of. I didn't think it would happen so soon! I wish I could remember who said that... I think they knew something! 😆
***Edit --- Oooh, It's not a remake. I read more on their Carbon Engine. It's just an emulation. That's cool too, but I'm slightly let down.

Great news. I've wanted to get Tomba for a while but it's so expensive. Hope 2 isn't far away.
My heart stopped when I saw "Tomba! Announced" in the news. Then I read the surrounding words and felt slightly disappointed. Still, Whoopee Camp is active again, so the more Tomba-boosting the better. A new Tomba game would literally be a dream come true for me. I really hope that this is a stepping stone to that.

I used to buy lrg games since they came out with Saturday morning rpg and oddworld new and tasty. It's been a minute since I bought from them. I will be buying these. Limited Run have gone to shit these days after they were bought BUT it means there will probably be some collectors editions for this and the other games announced.
Gex, Tomba, Castlevania Advance Collection, Gargoyles Remastered, Jurassic Park, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition, Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution to name a few announced.
You can usually find some decent ones every now and then, hopefully they come with some steelbooks.

Damn. Tbh though. I checked out the site and seen alot more pre order games then there used to be. I actually like that. That was one thing some of us on the forum complained about. Hot releases being smaller then probably needed. I know I'd rather pre order tomba then have a chance for 1 of the 5k or whatever.
Side note. Why tf can't they do something similar with Alan wake 2. Create a cheap site for a pre order have us pay for it and bam we get our physical. They don't lose any money and games ain't sitting on store shelves.
I liked em better when they took digital only games and made them physical. Now they are glorified bootleggers making high priced reproductions of things that already had physical retail releases.
This sort of thing used to be frowned upon in gaming. Now everyone just accepts it.
You could say that but I'll pay lrg price for Tomba on a new system rather the ebay price on a ps1.
I hate it but some games I never owned anyway physical wise so as long as the collectors edition is good, and I mean stuff I’d like to have then I don’t mind
However 80% of the stuff they put out now is just shit, like games where you haven’t even heard of them…super niche. Not good digital only games in need of a physical release.

Legend of dragoon was not underrated. But damn such memories. If rumours are true few years ago about Sony putting up a trophy system for the PS1 i hope they do legend of dragoon
