Sonic Forces Shows a First Look at 'Tag' Gameplay in New Trailer

Sega launched a new trailer for their new 3D Sonic title, Sonic Forces,coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC Holiday 2017.

I don't want to play as Classic Sonic or that player created character with the Wisp gadget, I want to play as Tails and Knuckles. Sonic Mania nailed the concept of what a mainline Sonic game should be, whether it should be a 2D or 3D game. Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles playable should be staple for every Sonic game

Yeah Mania got it right. I would love if a future game even introduced Amy back as a character...but not the awful new design. Either this...

I didn't want Classic Sonic to be in this game at all. I can deal with it because it doesn't bother me too much, but i like your idea of playing as Sonic, Tails and Knuckles. Not the Adventure 2 way either, the classic way, running through stages with Tails flying ability and Knuckles gliding ability, just make them slower at running than Sonic. Simple.

It's concerning that all the gameplay they are showing is soooo linear. I know Sonic games are always linear, but wheres the platforming and alternate routes?

well its nowhere like heroes, they did team attacks with there special abilities this is weird. And sonic color looks lighter then the usual dark blue, reminds me of boom. creating your own character with grappling and a weapon looks pretty crap, reminds me of shadow the hedgehog
