Why not? People dont mind dropping tons of money on other dlc.

V0LT2480d ago

At least you get a physical item by doing so.

NotoriousWhiz2479d ago

You don't have to battle scalpers to get other DLC.

septemberindecember2479d ago

Well, one of my biggest gripes is that the amiibos are often in limited supply for the popular ones, and some models are discontinued.

Also, you have to buy the amino in a two pack for 30$...that's 30$ for a hard mode (if you didn't want the figurine)

badz1492479d ago

when other games have Harder difficulty or new game+ as free updates but Nintendo charge for it and dumb fanboys still finding ways to defend it. SMH

seriously...just go F yourself

Another dumb decision by Nintendo!!! SHOCKER??!!!........Nintendo is terrible and the faster ppl realize it the better! It's only a matter of time when they become like Sega and they stop making making consoles cause of all the terrible decisions they've made and start losing a ton of money and only develop they're first party games for Sony and Microsoft.

Shadyceaser2480d ago (Edited 2480d ago )

Could you imagine 100 million ver of Mario cart on Xbox and ps4 ... That's how they should make money ...very little risk there ... No need to make new hardware .... Bloody listen Nintendo you idiots .... Nintendo games with all that power ... Just wow 😲

They could even sell multi millions of all there past software on the other two .... If Nintendo ever do that I will sell my house and stick the money I to Nintendo. Shares . Imo they would go through the roof.

_-EDMIX-_2480d ago

Exactly.

I have no doubt in my mind that Nintendo already has this as a contingency plan if they're not able to regain a specific amount of market share because there is no point if this system literally does not move 80 to 100 million units there's going to be no point in them continuously making something that's also having them sell last software statistically.

Basically they would be spending more money to make less money.

Whereas if they leave the hardware Market they would be able to make the most money while spending the less.

Nintendos financial situation I've already 100% predicted what the switch was going to be in any one could look at the past articles about the NX to see that I 100% predicted because of their financial situation they would exit the home Console Market in simply go portable only with a ability to out to the television.

So some of your Nintendo fans need to understand that prediction wasn't simply some sort of blind guess and I'm not some sort of Nintendo Insider that prediction was simply made off of their financial situation of knowing that their Portables make more than their home consoles so if they're Portables unable to sell a specific amount I believe it's very likely they're going to entertain the idea of Simply becoming a software only company.

The numbers very much show and prove for a fact less people are buying Nintendo Hardware so if less they're able to raise their market share and get all of those Gamers back they're going to have to consider just go multi-platform like Sega.

It would save their company tons of money while probably making them the most money they'd ever received in their company's history from software sales.

I believe the vast majority of Nintendo's missing install base are people who own PC PlayStation 4 Xbox One phones what have you.

Many gamers even myself included would have no problem buying any of Nintendo's games if they actually put them on other platforms many of us just do not see the use of buying a system for 3 games.

Evident by the wii u historic low sales the lowest any home console has ever sold out of the three companies.

Right now I'm pretty sure the Wii U switch and 3DS combined are barely at the PSP's lifetime sales ..

_-EDMIX-_2480d ago

I'm at the point where I'd rather just see Nintendo focus on software I just don't believe they could do Hardware properly.

At least if they were just a software developer they would not have to worry about all the technical issues with the hardware just let Sony and Microsoft worry about that for God sake this company is struggling just to add 2002 features to a damn game.

I never thought I would be in 2017 and Nintendo is still struggling to add these features this is going from strange to just incompetent.

I mean dear God that's like saying you're a fast food restaurant and you don't have a drive-thru in even after millions of restaurants include drive-thrus you still have the people who own that company struggling at blueprints trying to figure out how to make it work.

Somebody dear to me who taught me so much about business once told me when you're inside of an industry where you're losing to your Rivals ,at least you could match what your Rivals are doing.

This helped me so much, I wasn't trying to Rack my brain trying to figuring out what works, I simply watched what was already proven to work and simply emulated those same people and literally began making money the very same year I began implementing that tactic and slowly began crafting my own techniques.

The saddest thing of this entire situation is Nintendo is failing at something that their competitors have already given them the damn of blueprint to do so what exactly is their problem? This is not even turning into some have "strengths and weaknesses" this is literally just showing that this company is just completely incompetent and just cannot hang in Hardware if they cannot get such a basic elements on their platforms.

This is the reason why they lost such a massive amount of market share

this is the reason why 170 million people did not return to buy this company's hardware

and this is the reason why they were forced to exit the Home console market and go portable only.

If they're unable to capture a significant about a market share I believe the most wisest idea for there might simply be to turn into a software company only if anything they could probably continue to make portable but just make their games on all platforms because I just don't understand the point in being a company trying to sell software but also doing so poorly in Hardware you actually lose the install base to sell software in the first place.

Their incompetence in Hardware's losing them software sales the thing that actually makes them the most money in the first place.

I will take amiibo over the usual MS microtransaction full MP games.

shockwave4life2479d ago

Even though Nintendo intentionally didn't make enough amiibo when they first came out to make it seem the demand was high thus screwing over they're fans who wanted them in the beginning in the process!?! I remember going to a Gamestop when they launched and they LITERALLY only had 1 ROBIN! 1! 1 Robin Amiibo. And apparently there's a mode in the upcoming Metroid game where u have to spend $13 on a amiibo just to play that mode! Yeah......u have fun with those $13 overpriced collectibles that hardly do anything!

LAWSON722479d ago

You literally counter your point.

'apparently there's a mode in the upcoming Metroid game where u have to spend $13 on a amiibo just to play that mode!'

'u have fun with those $13 overpriced collectibles that hardly do anything!'

So adding a mode is hardly doing anything?

I personally would gladly take a $13 toy that adds a little bit of fanfare content over video games designed from the ground up to feature microtransactions.

shockwave4life2479d ago

Your not the brightest! Sure the amiibo does something, it's charging u $13 for a mode that should be free and included in the game! Your gonna complain bout micro transactions but not this?? I smell a 12 yr old Nintendo fanboy

chris2352477d ago

well, it's nintendo. they are dubbed the most greedy and most arrogant manufacturer for a reason.

I find it funny that people complained when the amiibo were barely used in most games at first and then those same people got mad when they are used at all in others.

LAWSON722480d ago (Edited 2479d ago )

I will take well stocked, accessible amiibo over something like microtransactions, when they are $50 and rare that is when I have a problem.

It likes the NES mini, there is a cool experience to be had but once you start charging outrageous prices that potential is thrown out the window.

armchairDev2479d ago

Well-stocked. Lmao. This is Nintendo..

shockwave4life2479d ago

Yeah it was well stocked like a yr later

MetroidFREAK212479d ago

It certainly does suck. Everyone should be able to be able to use the content... Quite unfortunate. Good thing I managed to scoop up 2 sets. One set to open and use, the other to keep sealed because I collect anything Metroid

The 7 Best Selling Switch Games of All Time

The Nintendo Switch has been an undeniable success for Nintendo, but which games make the best selling chart for the console?

GotGame81891d ago

Animal crossing came out the week the entire world shutdown. Yeah I bought it.

kevco3391d ago

Agreed. I think a lot of the AC: H sales have to do with early lockdown players!

I mean, I would've played it anyway. But I guess there's a lot of people who got into it because of the hype and their new found free time!

DivineHand12591d ago

Nintendo made out like bandits with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It's the same game that was on the WiiU except they added 2 item boxes like in double dash.

kevco3391d ago

It's the Capcom method:

1. Add a new word to the end of the title and features that should've been expected first time around.
2. Charge full price for it.
3. Profit.

gold_drake90d ago

this is why i always say that Nintendo will always be fine. look at those numbers lol

and those are all first party games.
