Sonic Forces was showcased on PS4 by Sony Interactive Entertainment in Hong Kong, and here you can see what it looks like.
The divide between both iterations of Sonic is now reaching spin-off territory, and the way Sega is handling it is both a blessing and a curse.
Game Rant Writes "Sonic Forces is now five years old, and while it has plenty of flaws, there are things the 2017 release handles well enough to affect future games."
Sega aims to release 2D Sonic games alongside the 3D ones each year, but it's questionable how the company plans to continue this trend.
This game looks like trash! You can't even control Sonic and the camera guides you into going forward instead having your own control. Reminds me of a phone game with how terrible everything is.
love it when someone who is semi decent plays a stage, it gives different dynamics on how the gameplay works and how one approaches a stage. Again, all of Sonic's games have been solid in the first few stages, but doesnt it maintain a good solid experience throughout? we will find out soon enough.
At least Sonic Mania is coming out soon.
The problem with Sonic games post Unleashed, is that the levels have become linear rollercoasters. Gone are the levels where there were actual platforming. As much as I enjoyed Generations, I still remember how great Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 were.
With Unleashed and onward, Sonic Team decided that speed was what players wanted in a Sonic game. The irony is that what players really wanted is what Sonic Team nearly accomplished but failed abysmally in Sonic 2006. A combination of high speed as well as traditional platforming.
The problem with the game being "super fast", is it effectively puts Sonic on rails. Heck, even the Genesis games did it, when you're moving fast you go into roller coaster mode. I guess that's fine though if it's broken up with quality platforming.
