Walmart: Super NES Classic Edition pre-orders opened "due to a technical glitch", cancelling orders

Walmart is just now sending out emails stating that SNES Classic Edition reservations were open “due to a technical glitch”.

Mine was cancelled today. I don't understand why they just don't honor them if it was indeed a "mistake" like the email says.

Walmart should be honoring the orders by fulfilling them as stock arrives. Mistakes happen but they should make them right.

I am with you, the problem is that they do not know how much stock will actually arrived. Nintendo is to blame here.

What the hell is taking so long? The SNES Classic went up for preorder and sold out in the rest of the world a month ago. Why is it taking this long to get the preorders online for North America? It has nothing to do with the FCC because the system doesn't have any wireless signals, so it doesn't need FCC approval.

Maybe in the 80s, but there is no excuse for it in this day and age! If you think for one second that slapping on a 6x6 piece of plastic over a little cheap circuit board is a difficult thing to do, then you've got a lot to learn. They could be pumping millions of these things out and at a much faster rate than this! They don't exclude this to consoles either, they do this with many Nintendo products. Remember the demand they created with all the amiibo shortages? Nintendo has always been known to create such high demand for their products.They have been doing this for years and there's absolutely no excuse for it. You don't see this happening with other companies. It's nintendos business strategy and I'm a big sucker for continuing to buy into them every time. Told myself no way I am going to buy a switch and just picked one up a couple weeks ago.
