Atari has made some mistakes with consoles in the past, but it can capitalize on these and make AtariBox its best yet. WWG has some suggestions.

Microsoft just posted the third quarter of its 2024 fiscal financial results. The software maker made $61.9 billion in revenue and a net income of $21.9 billion during Q3. Revenue is up 17 percent, and net income has increased by 20 percent.
Xbox content + services up 62% while hardware down 31%... seems about right with the way they tout you don't need the hardware to play. People can play on their phones or smart tv or other means. I don't hardly play on my consoles directly since getting devices like the logitech g-cloud and ps portal. Which is to also say I have been playing more digital than physical because of these devices.
Too expensive hardware when others offer the same or more for less? Good work, Green Team.
"Despite some early successes for Xbox games on rival platforms, Xbox hardware is down by a massive 31 percent this quarter."
"Without Activision Blizzard, Microsoft’s overall gaming revenue would have actually declined this quarter."
"Xbox content and services would have only been up a single percent without Activision Blizzard..."
"It looks like next quarter is going to be a similar story for gaming at Microsoft, too."
That is crazy... so A/B/K is carrying the whole Xbox gaming.
Oh and Microsoft will be fine. Windows, Office and Cloud are growing with each pc purchase.
PSLS writes: I have traveled across the country using the Razer Kishi Ultra in airports and hotels for both PlayStation Remote Play and mobile gaming in general, and I am thoroughly impressed.
"Atari also worked well with third parties to establish a strong library for the system, like with Activision."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH that's a good one. 😂🤣😂 29315;😂🤣㈳ 4;🤣😂🤣 128514;😅
Here's a quickly history lesson. In the beginning Atari was the only publisher of games for the Atari 2600. This was particularly galling to the developers, as they received neither financial rewards nor credit for games that sold well.
Atari programmers demanded that the company treat their developers as record labels treated musicians, with royalties and their names on game boxes. Kaplan, who called the others "the best designers for the 2600 in the world", recalled that CEO Kassar called the four men "towel designers" and that "anyone can do a cartridge." These programmers then left Atari and formed the world's first ever third party publisher, Activision.
Against Atari's publishing policies at the time, Activision was the first studio to allow programmers to take credit for the games they designed. This achievement is one of the greatest keystones in this entire industry.
If longtime veteran Nintendo still has issues getting a lot of third party support on their successful new console, you better believe that Atari with its shady past will have a way harder time accomplishing the same feat. And unlike Nintendo, Atari doesn't have properties to completely sustain themselves.
Pass.
It can't be a success. First they have no real first party developers. So no compelling exclusives. Second they're brand is poison, and are credited with destroying the gaming industry. Third their IPs are trash, the few classics people DO fondly remember aren't owned by them, such as Pac man (namco) and pitfall (activision)
Or work on a game like Zelda and then you can release whatever hardware you want for it, and it will sell.
