Here’s why 30,000 World of Tanks players are boycotting the game

About 30,000 people from various clan communities decided to boycott the new season on the Global Map. This include people from the top clans and alliances of the RU server for World of Tanks. This group of people has created a movement named CONTRAS and here are their demands.

Cool,.. This is serious and taken seriously by developers,.. I personally don't find WOT very appealing ,.. but I know some of these guys are hardcore to the insane level,.. So sure they need to listen to fanbase.

WOT is not pay2win, I can guarantee that. Yes there are tanks available to buy but no matter how good that tank is you pay with real money it can be messed up by a free purchased in game tank in next to no time. Premium tanks are not godly and they have there weak points like the free to ay tanks. Your always matched upto a 2 tier above or below to make it more even as well and if you kill a tank higher than you in tier you gain some good silver and experience. Hell you can't even pay to advance unless you earn the exp with a premium tank by playing the game, premium tanks earn free exp which can be converted with gold. The subscription you can purchase offers no pay2win, it offers extra silver and experience after each battle.

Even all the ammunition you can purchase now with in game silver which is the only thing that can give you an edge on the battlefield in firepower.

You obviously have not play world of tanks or aged very little of it to make such a comment.

Maybe it's because it is a 7 year old game and lots of other good games have come out since then and one shouldn't waste their whole life playing one game because that would be stupid?

In reality isn't this a small percentage of players and the changes sound like they are being made to encourage new players to join so the game isn't dominated exclusively by the small die hard population

That is a true sign of we ain't standing for this in our loved gaming industry.

Now it's a shame console players didn't band together like that and refused all those new rip off money making dlc schemes developers came out with. Because no stance was took that pretty much ended buy a season pass and all content that ever comes out with that game is yours, instead now season means season. There's also the fact no stance was took when stores open up within the full priced games, when at one point only games you would see that happen would be on free2play as they needed to make funds.

Yeah it's a shame it's took this long for players to actuate take a stance together and say enough is enough, even if it's not what I've talked about above lol.

For ages I've played WOT on XB1 and felt myself it's been lacking clan support and other features, apart from that the game is amazing.

Same can be said though for many games that has competitive multiplayer, clan support should be mandatory. My first taste of clan support in consequence was on xb1 and it was on chrome hounds, loved the game and the support sega did a fine job on that title. Yet clan support even on console gaming as been pretty non existent and it shouldn't be that way considering how many competitive players there are.

It should be written in law that when developing games that have competitive multiplayer, that clan support has to be added.

I nearly have a tier 10 tank destroyer for British on WOT, just have to get through the exp for the tortoise. I love how each tank plays different, how each tier is different and how challenging and strategic the game can be. Love how the devs have changed the mechanics and graphics over the past couple of years. I think there is a mode though that isn't available on console yet.

I think the devs should tell them to go fark themselves, or make their own game if they aren't happy. I suspect that there are probably millions of other players who could care less. Caving to the demands of a few is not wise.
