I really wish they would have brought that 2D Metroid to the Switch. Was never a fan of the Prime series.

ShelbyGT3502510d ago

I liked the Prime games and hope they eventually bring the 2D Metroid to Switch.

DarthZoolu2510d ago

They should make a ginormous game where you go all over the Galaxy doing space pirate stuff! Pew pew

Nintendew2510d ago

1 thing I hated in prime was constantly scanning things.
1 thing I did like, in a dark area and shoot you can see her reflection, that was neat.
Personally, I'm a side scroller guy, I hope some day a full console, not handheld version would come.
To me Super Metroid was the best one.

PhoenixUp2510d ago

It wouldn't be the first place time they brought the series back

Im thinking the new 3ds samus will eventually get a switch port

Rippcity2510d ago

They need it to be a hit to successfully bring it back. Honestly they could just reboot the entire series and make the single player campaign like prime and then have some kind of multiplayer to go along with it. Having some kind of pvp multiplayer aspect to it would be awesome. Although it's a shame that Nintendo is so behind with their online infrastructure because they have a lot of games that could do well in the multiplayer space, this included.

Nintendew2510d ago

Why reboot the series when Samus could just chase down the space pirates to a new planet?
New planet new game!
Multiplayer does sound good but in a way could be a lot harder to pull off in terms of how it's done.
What was it, DS metroid wanna say hunters multiplayer wasn't bad.

Rippcity2510d ago

You're right a reboot isn't necessary but the reason I say that is Prime never really had a multilayer aspect to it so I don't think people are expecting one. Don't think I ever played hunters as I'm not super into handhelds.

I pretty much half expect Prime 4 to be single player only. Nintendo doesn't have their online figured out enough to provide a decent fleshed out multi-player experience for it. But if I don't already buy a Switch for Prime 4 alone, a pvp multi-player option will definitely sell the Switch to me.

Nintendew2510d ago

Hunters had a decent multiplayer with different bounty hunters.
If prime 4 has multiplayer, kinda hope it's like that.
Personally wouldn't mind 4player multiplayer local, 1 tiny little problem..... I wanna be Ridley!

DanteVFenris6662509d ago

Metroid isn't about being an online shooter at all, for some it's not even considered a shooter

Rippcity2509d ago

Why not though? You don't think that could be cool at all especially if they do it right?

If they're not important enough to be held on their own official storefront then they're not important enough to give your money to Nintendo.

Buy these, physically, used or simply emulate them.

This article comes off as nothing more than advertising games that Nintendo, themselves, don't care to offer you... buy now!

ocelot07810d ago

Wait hang on where all the outrage? I swear when Sony tried to do this with PS3 last year. There was outrage from all corners of the gaming universe.

Why does no one care Nintendo is doing it?

MadLad810d ago (Edited 810d ago )

There has been.
A lot of it.

Simply type in "3DS" in Google and tell me what you see.

ocelot07810d ago

Oh I have a fair few websites reporting on it. But where is the outcry on here? I remember their was 2-3 approved top voted articles when Sony announced they where closing the PS3 store. All slating them and not caring about customers.

I should of worded it better. Where is all the outrage on n4g?

MadLad810d ago (Edited 810d ago )

N4G is a fanboy site, mainly frequented by only Sony.
Microsoft is their direct competition, so you'll typically only see articles that are made to rile up those fanbases.

Nintendo does it's own thing, so they're rarely brought up, aside from their fans. The most you get is the same typical two or three posters claiming Nintendo is only for infants.

If you come to N4G for educated discourse and reasonable discussion, this isn't the place. Sad as it is.

It's lame that it is shutting down. Now I feel rushed buying all the rpgs I missed out on the system.

You guys know that even archive.org has 3DS roms, and all other console roms. I'm downloading 846GB of 3DS roms and will add the best games to my soon to be soft modded New 3DS 😁. Might as well throw in DS and other emulators in there to. Guys this would be the best way to play and enjoy the 3DS. Just need to buy a bigger micro SD card and format it to FAT32, which you can if it's even 256GB or larger there are ways.

This should help if you want to soft mod it excellent guide and up to the latest and probably last 3DS firmware update: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

2D Metroid Retrospective: Bring on the Remakes

VGChartz's Paul Broussard: "The early-mid 2000s saw something of a golden age for Metroid games. After an eight year hiatus, Metroid burst back onto the scene in dramatic fashion. Largely buoyed by the critical and financial success of Metroid Prime (at least, relative to other Metroid releases), Metroid saw a whopping six new titles between 2002 and 2007, as well as one rather bizarre pinball spin-off that wound up being much better than it had any right to be. Metroid had never been this popular before."

Never though the day would come where I say this but I’d be fine with having every 2D Metroid remade the way Dread plays.

INMATEofARKHAM949d ago

I just want them all in the Switch.
