In fact, after readin the review multiple times, this is just a VERY poorly written and realized review. The reviewer gives no specifics of his concerns, or positives for that matter, it is literally a template that if you changed the title (save for a few minor descriptors) could potentially be about ANY remaster of any game, of any genre really. He just repeats "it was pretty," "it felt outdated" and "the difficulty spiked" over and over with different words. One of the most lazy reviews I have ever read.

Bjorn, that is just your opinion. But usually bad games don't get remade. Crash Bandicoot has a huge fanbase because it was good and that is why it has been remade. You will never see bad games remade.

So, just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean it's bad. I don't like WoW, never did but I acknowledge that it's a good game.

So..... let's get this straight. The lowest ranking review was done by someone who only completed 50% of all 3 the games cause he thought they were too hard. How surprising. This is one of the laziest, half-assed reviews I've ever seen. It even reads like it was written in 20 minutes.

And the closing quote makes absolutely no sense: "it might pain you to realize that Crash's original adventures aren't as inventive or surprising as they were 20 years ago."... just... what??

The long and short of it: Vicarious Visions were true to the challenging and wacky PS1 gameplay that is much loved, and luckily most reviews seem to be digging it enough to actually do their jobs and finish it.

I lost respect for Gamespot when they gave Duke Nukem Forever a 3/10 and said it was broken. I got the game day 1 and never had any game breaking bugs on the PS3. It's one thing if you didn't like it but to take it as far as to say it was broken, unplayable and not to purchase it was a flat out lie.

Ahh, I think IGN's God Hand review can compete with this. Truly reviews to go down in history as brain numbingly awful.

Though, I guess what makes this review worse, is that Crash games are pretty straightforward with enjoyable mechanics and levels. You dont have to be pro to finish them. God Hand required a much deeper understanding, so to the outsider the review might not look objectively wrong.

And this person definitely should have not reviewed the games if they couldnt even finish them... what the actual fk.

I agree with you on God Hand..one of my favourite games of all time and one of the best Clover games as they became Platinum Games now.. if I am not mistaken IGN gave a bad review on it as well.. its a masterpiece as other their games like Viewtiful joe 1 & 2 and Okami

Everything about this review is a sham, so half assed it reads like a Polygon clickbait review but it's from Gamespot, and the worst thing is the reviewer gives a low score because it's 'too difficult' lmfaoooo journalistic integrity these days! As someone else pointed above, Gamespot gave scores of over 8 to fricking Dark Souls, the modern championing of 'git gud'. Crash Bandicoot games were challenging, not difficult. Seeing the other scores from other reviewers, this from Gamespot is the anomaly trending away from the line of best fit.

These 3 games are praised everywhere, they're getting very good scores. The only one that didn't like the "old feeling" is this guy in GameSpot.
Crash-style games are still around. Ok, it's not open world but that doesn't mean it's not funny. And this for old fans like me and for new people that meet the bandicoot for the first time. The game is still funny, even addictive and with the new graphic is even better.
People can say what they want and hate it how much they want, but Crash is still a very good and funny platform game.

Playing it now with no nostalgia impacting my thoughts, and I can gladly say this reviewer is full of shit.

I am still on the first game and despite some levels being frustrating and challenging it is by no means due to unfair or bad design. It is from what I hear by far the worst entry and I am already saying a 6/10 is nonsense. Shame on you Gamespot, next time give the game to someone who can handle a challenge.

IDK why people care so much about the reviews. I bought this because I loved every game from Crash back on the PS1 including CTR and Crash Bash. The only way I wasn;'t getting this is if it had some broken glitch or major issues like the Silent Hill Remasters on the 360. Other then that, this is just fan service. Reviews are irrelevant when it comes to something like this. PS fans chill our Crash is here again and it's epic. Got my copy today! :)
