The sad/funny thing is this whole franchise pretty much came into existence because of the X-Men. The first crossover fighter between Marvel characters and Capcom was X-Men vs. Street Fighter, which then became Marvel vs. SF and then finally Marvel vs. Capcom. Not to mention, before they did a Marvel series fighter, they did X-Men Children of the Atom.

For a series with such close ties to the X-Men, it's sad to see it go away, regardless of the reason. Especially when we're suppose to believe people might not know X-Men or at least Wolverine, despite him getting a movie a few months ago, the only Marvel character to appear in every crossover (plus the original CotA game) prior, one of the most prominent characters on the Marvel Heroes Omega main image and much more.

They certainly won't forget one of the biggest and most relevant marvel superheroes, Wolverine. You don't make a marvel mash up and exclude a character like that, and when that happens you clearly failed at what you set out to do.

Even when you don't factor in Wolverine, there is no denying the importance and popularity of the Xmen as a whole.

Well, from what I played of Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite, it might not be their best outing, but it doesn't look to be terribly bad, in terms of gameplay, either. The real issue here is, crossovers, much like anime games, are about wish fulfillment and removing X-Men or to be precise, Wolverine, from the mix doesn't sit right. I doubt think you'll find a single person who knows anything about Marvel that would say they didn't know Wolverine or that he isn't notable. It's like excluding Captain America, Spider-Man, Iron Man or Hulk. These are the characters people think of when you say Marvel, so when you exclude one and add someone like Hawkeye, there is a problem.

As long as Rich and X are in it, I don't care about the rest of the roster. I got the two characters I was hoping for, so it's a buy for me. Any other cool characters are just gravy. I got to try out X in the demo, but I'll have to wait for the full game to try out Nova. Hopefully he's as awesome as he was in MvC3.

I like the MvC franchise for the capcom characters, i did't care much about the marvel side of the roster so for me the "no x-men" thing isn't a big deal; marvel just want to push the MCU characters, that's it...
