Beyond Good and Evil 2 is announced, but not in development yet

And this is why I said before that unless it's on the shelf being sold, I've stopped worrying about when it releases.

All these other Ubisoft games get created and sold each year and this game takes more than 15 years to make.

Probably 2020. No way in hell it'd be done by 2018 and they'd have to rush the game in order to make it for 2019. with 3 years away, it might be tail end of this Pro/X consoles and then on the next gen systems.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a next gen launch title exclusive, the ambition for the game doesn't seem feasible on current gen. I mean they did say shared open world, with seamless travel from planet to space to other star systems and planets. That's some Star Citizen s*** right there, and is going to require a lot more GPU and more importantly CPU power for it to work well. Or they could surprise the hell out of us and make a miracle happen.

Games are announced so far from launch so often. Everyone should follow what Bethesda did with Fallout 4. Announce it with a release a few months away. You maintain hype and boost sales.

Things are not as bad as this article seems to imply. The guy on the verge saw an early version of the game, so it's not actually "day zero", Ancel was speaking figuratively . It's early in the development cycle, it's not like they haven't done anything yet. And Ancel hopes to show something close to the trailer next year.

A trailer this year, gameplay next year, maybe a release date in two years... That's pretty common at E3. Anthem was hinted at last year, showed this year, and should release next year. Spiderman or God of War 4 had a trailer last year, gameplay this year, and the release is 2018.
