Dissapointing but i'll just play it on XB1X... I'm not too keen on how this game is sounding atm though to be honest, an always online shared adventure. and a prequel with a 2 in the title. Not we wanted at all.But I guess it could be good.

Neonridr2526d ago

this is still in no way anything official though. Based on the fact that this game isn't coming until later next year at the earliest, there is still plenty of time for Switch support to be added.

_-EDMIX-_2526d ago (Edited 2526d ago )

smh.

Buddy, have you not looked at all that isn't coming to this platform? MOST of the current gen games announced at E3 are NOT coming to Switch.

For this to be made for PS4, XONE and PC is very much saying its that demanding that it can't be done on Switch. I'd seriously look at this whole event and really sober up on that this system is likely not going to get current gen support from AAA titles. "there is still plenty of time for Switch support to be added" is like saying that about the Resident Evil games on Wii.

So, would you state this about RE5 and RE6, and then say this about RE7, whats next? RE8? Still time to wait for that too? Are you seriously not seeing the pattern of all the games not coming to this system to get that its not happening?

Lennoxb632526d ago

I mean sure if you want your Switch to burst into flames. lol

bouzebbal2526d ago

Yeah, with that hardware it will run sub HD 20fps on switch.
No way this is releasing on it if it's pro and x optimized.

Yeah, always online is a bit of a turn off for me. We'll see how it turns out...

masterfox2526d ago

This will be a common trend for the Switch, while everyone is hyping its sales in the end this is the reality for actual games, less games for that thing, third party games for the Switch is already an issue for them but Nintendo fans don't want to admit it, they claim lots and lots of awesome games are coming to their beloved system but sadly they will have to learn the hard way...AGAIN!, I don't know what the hell they were thinking that an inferior tech of a Wii U on the go was a good idea, almost all game developers already put behind last gen PS3, 360 years ago, so I don't know why Nintendo fans are expecting that developers keep making games for that gen, Bethesda was nice enough or paid enough for bringing Skyrim to the Switch, a freaking years old game!, but oh well at least you will be a able to dress as Link...BANG! NINTENDO WINS e3!!!" lol.

Neonridr2526d ago

It's quite more powerful than a Wii U, and it's what 10% of the size of it?

Nintendo had some amazing games shown at E3. Most of which you can play this fall. Sad thing is, you put down this device yet you don't own one. So your opinion just comes off as some self entitled brat who actually has no clue what they are talking about.

As the install base grows, so will the 3rd party support as everyone will want a piece of the action. Wii U never got that support because it didn't succeed. Switch has a good possibility of surpassing the Wii U's lifetime sales in a year.

I own multiple consoles / handhelds. So if a game skips one platform, I get to play it on another. So if BGE2 doesn't come for my Switch, I can play it for my Pro. Why do you swear allegiance to one platform like they are actually doing you a favour in life. You don't owe them anything, it's ok to support more than just Sony masterfox.

_-EDMIX-_2526d ago

"It's quite more powerful than a Wii U"

That isn't the problem. Wii U failed because it wasn't more powerful then XONE, PS4....

This is facing THE SAME PROBLEM! Not being "Wii U" doesn't mean its not in the same situation. Its more powerful yes, but being more powerful then Wii U isn't the issue, BEING THE POWER OF XONE AND PS4 IS!

Neonridr2525d ago

@EDMIX - nah, if you actually held one and played it you would get it.

Imagine playing Breath of the Wild on something like a small tablet. Then you'll get the idea.

We have NEVER had this level of gaming on the go before. Sure it's not as powerful as my PS4 (Pro) or my gaming PC. But I don't need it to be.

You mock the power of the console, yet I am willing to bet you that Mario Odyssey or BOTW will win GOTY. Is that a slap in the face to a much more powerful console that puts out a game like Horizon for example? Or at the end of the day does it really matter if the games are just as fun?

You guys focus so much on power you forget that games can be the most simplistic in nature and still be better than the juggernauts. You act like the Switch can't run anything.

Should it be more powerful than an XB1 or PS4 when it's a fraction of the size. I mean how much would you be expecting to spend on this thing? Or would the battery last more than 5 minutes? Compromises needed to be made in order to maximize practicality.

Relientk772526d ago

It's on PS4 oh happy days!

Can't wait to play it, the first one is such a classic.

FallenAngel19842526d ago

Lmao and to think that people believed in rumors that Nintendo would let the Rabbids crossover with Mario in exchange for Beyond Good & Evil 2 exclusivity.

Even Ubisoft isn't giving Switch their full support

_-EDMIX-_2526d ago

Well based on what they stated about Wii U and M rated games. I don't think Ubisoft ever has plans for their top IPs to come to Nintendo.

ie no AC, no Watchdogs, no Rainbowsix etc

2pacalypsenow2526d ago (Edited 2526d ago )

So much for it being Switch exclusive

Five Big Games Still Lingering Somewhere in Development Hell

This year promises to be a big year for gaming, and it will definitely be one of the greatest if any of these big MIA projects finally made it into gamers' hands.

Pretty sure Silk Song and Dragon Age are going smoothly. The other 2 can be assumed to be quietly cancelled knowing their publishers and Metroid will most likely be shown off this year.

Michiel1989121d ago

Dragon Age going smoothly??? Directors leaving, people leaving in general, terrible working conditions....not sure how you define smoothly.

VincentVanBro23d ago

lol Dragon Age development has been anything but smooth

Chocoburger122d ago

I remember in 2017 when Nintendo showed off the Metroid Prime 4 logo, and some Nintendo defenders claimed "Just because they only showed a logo, doesn't mean that's all they've worked on for the game."

As history has proven, they were wrong. Nintendo showed off a logo back in 2017 because that's literally all they had.

-Foxtrot121d ago

I think Beyond Good and Evil 2 can stay there unless they are going to just rename it to a new IP

DOMination-121d ago

Pretty sure BG&E2 is dead at this point - along with the other game Ancel was working on before he left - I think it was called WILD. Anyone remember that from a PS conference years ago?

Dreadwolf isn't in development hell anymore and is finally getting its reveal in the summer - since 2016 the game has been scrapped and restarted three times but its been going pretty well since the last reboot when EA finally allowed BioWare to just get on with making a single player game.

I'm not sure Perfect Dark is in development hell either - like it could be but we haven't really heard much to suggest either way - imo they just showed the trailer off when the game was still in pre-production. Xbox were desperate for anything and this is all they had at the time. And the reason we haven't heard anything since is just because it's in normal development and games take 5 years to make. The help from a support studio was typically overblown on N4G because nearly every game has this.

I just need...Deep Down.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 Is Now the Most Delayed AAA Game Ever

Ubisoft's action-adventure even beats Duke Nukem Forever which previously was the title with the longest wait between a game being first announced and it actually being released.

x_xavier_x590d ago

I understand that the original game is held in high esteem by some passionate fans. I tried to get into it on several occasions and I just lost interest after a few hours of gameplay.

Abracadabra590d ago

Beyond Good & Evil was a great game at the time... but, like most older games, it didn't age well. Gameplay and graphics are subpar by today's standards.

Wouldn't mind if they made a Remake with updated gameplay and graphics. Game turns 20 next year...

x_xavier_x590d ago (Edited 590d ago )

I feel the same way about the original Psychonauts. I gave it a shot every few years, and it just wasn't for me.

MadLad590d ago

I find it still very playable by today's standards, honestly.

But opinions are opinions.
I just feel it actually aged well.

Godmars290589d ago

Its was great middleware that someone thought would make for an even greater AAAA title.

For some reason...

0hMyGandhi589d ago

Beyond Good and Evil aged just fine, as did the original Psychonauts. Visually, sure, a bit rough (though both have a wonderfully refreshing art style that more than makes up for actual "visual fidelity".)

I'd say that you really need to give both of these games another shot. Psychonauts is one of the most original and utterly creative games I've ever played, and it's also one of the funniest as well. Psychonauts 2 was even better, and basically, a (well made) Pixar movie brought to life.

In all honesty, don't just play games and try to like them if you don't actually like them. It's perfectly fine to have your own tastes! we tend to use a tremendous amount of hyperbole when referring to games that are slightly older, and we speak only from memory, which *can* be deceiving.

I will say that I replayed the first Psychonauts again in the last few months, and still adore it. But like I said, this is all subjective.

poppatron589d ago

I gave up on the og psychonauts after about 5 or so hours because like many many people those weird sluggish controls just got the better of me while trying to get through some of the more testing platforming and swinging around parts.

BgaE I got way further in enjoyed, I think I saved it off in the end because something I was more interested in came out. The sequel looks like a completely different type of game in genre and scope, to the point it looked pretty ground breaking I thought. I’m still super low key excited for it, although I wouldn’t be surprised if next time it reared it’s head it looked very very different.

EazyC589d ago

It's an age thing. I'm always reminded of this when I whip out the old PS2, the vast majority of 3D games from the '00s just haven't aged well.

Good-Smurf589d ago

I have same feeling over Code Veronica X fans loved it to bits while I'm came out of it confused and disappointed.
I never played Beyond Good & Evil and I might get give it a try soon.

deleted590d ago

Cancel it or change the name for all I care. This isn't the Beyond Good & Evil I fell in love with.

Si-Fly590d ago

Weird take. Whilst we didn’t get proper gameplay reveals it looked very much how I would want BG&E to look now.

-Foxtrot590d ago (Edited 590d ago )

So you wanted an ambitious open world Beyond Good and Evil sequel that gameplay differs from the original and has no clear vision so far if it's a prequel (which no one wanted) or a sequel (with an evil Jade where she's not the main character, which no one wanted)

All people wanted was a full on sequel that's a platformer and continues Jades story.

-Foxtrot590d ago

Exactly

It's not Beyond Good and Evil

They had an idea for an ambitious new IP and thought it would sell better or had more of a safety net if they slapped on a franchise name.

isarai590d ago

Seriously, has absolutely nothing to do with the original other that a loose cameo.

CrimsonWing69590d ago (Edited 590d ago )

How hard is it to make a game like the original? Nobody wanted anything different and these idiots just insist on trying to make something completely unrelated AND they don’t even know what to make! So, yea, here we go with the delays. Ubisoft can be such an obnoxious publisher/developer.

InklingGirl590d ago

Just leave it alone, the original is a classic lets not ruin it.

Exvalos590d ago

I'm more worried about how fast that time went i still remember it being announced there is no way that was that many years ago NO WAY!

Beyond Good And Evil 2 Starts External Playtesting

Although Beyond Good and Evil 2 has had its problems, it has officially been confirmed by Ubisoft that it is still in active development.

Terry_B675d ago

It never looked like a Beyond Good and Evil game even.

TheExecutioner674d ago

Do you know that first game came out 2003 by the time this game released i would be probably 40.
Now majority of gamers who played the first one are not going even bother playing now.

This game is a refreshing and wants to be more appealing to all gamers.

Concertoine674d ago

I just don’t see a reason why it cant be a new IP in that case.

Terry_B674d ago

..and? do you think it looks like a game that appears to all gamers? Unlike the first part it gets mostly negative feedback, even from people that never played the first game.

Michiel1989674d ago

@Terry they also didnt play the 2nd.....

maelstromb673d ago

If the devs were smart, they'd launch a remake of the original a few months before the sequel to get the fans who have loved the original amped again and to also introduce it to a new generation to get them excited for what's to come. Seems like a win-win to me.

isarai674d ago

Looks like an awesome game, but it has nothing too do with BGE1, or anything to do with what fans wanted.

Yi-Long674d ago

If it would have been a SP action-adventure game like the first one, I would have been excited.
