Wow, a Dragon Ball game by Arc System Works?? I think this is the first time in yeeeeeeeears that I am actually excited for a new DB fighting game

sinjonezp2532d ago

I know for myself every time I played Blaz or Guilty Gear, I think to myself, (what if arc made a dbz game? That would be incredible!) and here we are, about to have it in less than a year. Beyond excited for this.

PurpHerbison2532d ago

It will be the first time in years that DBZ sees a real traditional fighting game. Those Naruto style 3rd fighters never did DBZ justice. This title is about 5-10 years too late for me but I am eager to spectate the highest level of play.

Agreed, I liked the way they looked but never liked the rock, paper, scissors style gameplay those anime type games had.

I also seriously hope they don't fill the roster up with the same characters. For example, Goku, Goku SS, Goku SS2 and so on. I always hated the DBZ games that did that. Make it to where you build meter and then transform to SS. Same goes with the villains of DBZ.

Are you fucking serious? This is AWESOME!!!!!! I'm absolutely in love with the idea of Arc System Works making a Dragon Ball fighting game in the vein of Guilty Gear Xrd

PurpHerbison2530d ago

If only Capcom would just give up and let ASW make a new Darkstalkers.

Nice this is great news!

Is this 100% confirmed? There's no Switch version

That's actually sort of surprising considering Xenoverse 2 got ported.

I wonder if it's because the game is much more demanding. These games don't really look that Demanding so who knows.

sinjonezp2532d ago

Have to disagree. I have a Gtx 970 and can play Tekken 7 at 1440p. I play blaz or GG and the frame rate crawls. The anime styles when they cut to supers or player intros are extremely taxing on the gpu not to forget that the backgrounds are extremely detailed. If they got it running on switch with a decent frame rate and reso I would be impressed.

_-EDMIX-_2532d ago

That might have to do with the optimization of the game.

Consider the first game was running on the PlayStation 3 and 360 in the second game doesn't really look that different.

But I'm not sure how much more demanding the second game really is you're probably correct it might be much more demanding to run then I really know of. I'm just Going off of assumption.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory2532d ago

Not surprising because they did Dragon Ball Extreme Butoden and the One Piece Fighting game for 3DS.
And Harada stated on Twitter that Namco is strict about the games they have for Switch.

Arc System Works has a BLAZBLUE game coming to Switch.

Nintendo hasn't been in the tech war aspect of the console war since the SNES. If even then. Sony, if not Phillips, messed them up that badly.

No matter what's been said, the Switch just isn't up to par to the XB1 or PS4. Nevermind Pro or Scorpio.

EDIT:
Maybe there'll be a Switch port a year or less afterwards? Announced sometime after this reveal?

That said, really wish Arc Syatems would make a JRPG that uses their version of the UE.

TXIDarkAvenger2532d ago

Besides Blazblue and Guilty Gear, they also did the DBZ Supersonic warrior games on DS and those were pretty damn good. I'm excited to see what they do with this game.

_-EDMIX-_2532d ago

Same, they have a good reputation in regards to making quality fighting games so I definitely I'm looking forward to this game.

Pookandpie2532d ago

I loved Guilty Gear for years, and BlazBlue became my thing for a while, too.

I did not know they did Supersonic Warriors, though. Supersonic Warriors 2 was my *jam*. My friends and I played it all the time, and I'd use Piccolo and Krillin all the time.

Even now when we chat on Discord, or something, I'll shout out, "This is the result of my training!" when I do something right and one of my friends will yell at me for it because he *hated* Krillin due to how often I used that attack, haha.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory2532d ago

They did the 3DS game as well. They also did this One Piece game. https://www.youtube.com/wat...
