I have a feeling there will be a lot of games in the near future that would be perfect for the Switch that will never be on it.
Nah new console warrants a new game, older re released (3rd/4th time?) console for the GOTY edition. It gives the die hard fans an extra game to play this year and for the rest the main New Pokémon switch some time in 2018. New games take time to make they don't come overnight look at Zelda BOTW took a few years in the end, at least new Mario is ready for the end of the year and Pokémon switch next year 🙏🏻🕹
better for the debut pokemon games on switch to be a brand new generation built for the system than a port of a 3ds game i feel. It's a smart move in the long run.
This is already the problem with the Switch. It has the ability to be portable, and thus is experiencing handheld expectations for games. Why would Nintendo release a 3DS tier game on a system capable of Mario Kart 8 and Breath of the Wild? It would be a staggering under utilization of resources and would put forth a bad precedent for what to expect on the Switch going forward. If a Pokemon game is coming, I'd expect it to be a lot closer to the Gamecube titles than a main title. Even when the Wii was doing well though, Nintendo still didn't bother with a big 3D Pokemon game, so I wouldn't expect that to change much on the Switch simply because it has had good launch window sales.
I don't get Pokemon fans anymore.
Game Freak is not GOING to release a alternate story Pokemon game on a brand new platform if it's the same GENERATION
