It is called getting older. No matter what you do for a living, getting older takes it's toll.
Does he drink? Smoke? Exercise regularly? Eat well? All of these will ALSO have a significant impact on health and well being.
Yes his job is stressful, welcome to the real world, but it by no means is the only thing impacting him.
