Why Is Mario Kart Still So Damn Great?

For nearly 25 years, Mario Kart has been a video game constant, one of a handful of games that has long been played and loved by just about everyone, not just the video game faithful. There have been many versions of Mario Kart—typically one for each new console Nintendo puts out—and while each has its own quirks and additions, for the most part the game has remained exactly the same. How is it that this series is still so good?

Mario kart is still so dam great because it has the essence of what games should be, it's fun, it's challenging, excellent gameplay, has replayability factor, addictive and looks beautiful and there's still so many things that they could add to it to make it even greater.
