Red Dead Redemption 2 Is Now Coming Spring 2018

Just proves that gaming season is looking less and less attractive when you factor in low AAA sells this gen thanks to to the holiday rush. I don't buy many games during the holiday like I use to just like pre-ordering is dying down. Sony imo has it figured out that's why they release their major games earlier in the year so they can see those maximum sells.

I don't think they moved a finished game to spring just for that and are not working on it or something. If anything, Rockstar was going to own the fall with that game. GTA and Read Dead are the type of games you move YOUR game because of, not the other way around.

It could be both, but its more likely it just needed more time. Nothing else this fall is coming out that is NEAR what Red Dead is, they sorta own that genre in the fall time, trust me.

I want to agree since logically that makes sense and Sony track record proves it. BUT. Rockstar is a special case. Not sure how close you follow the devs, but last year they simply changed their Twitter icon from the iconic black and yellow R* to the red and black R*. And Twitter F'n LOST IT. RDR2 was trending before it was announced simply because of a color scheme on a logo. It was even the top story on N4G. A Twitter profile pic. Top story. No announcements. Rockstar is on a level where they don't have competition. Release dates are nothing but a starting point for sales. They generate hype like no other company. There's not a single game any developer could put out that would make Rockstar worried about it affecting their sales. If RDR2 and TLOU2 came out on the same day. Every single person wanting both those games (who have a PS4 anyway) will get those 2 games. If that means selling their old games, saving up months in advance etc.

It's know that that Rockstar delays their games, but the holiday season is just stacked and more crowded this year than I recall ever seing it. Most games that aren't huge third-party ones will be cannibalised. It's a wise move on their part, and for me one less game to budget for this holiday season, so I'm grateful. 🙏

Definitely looking sweet af, count on Rockstar to push the limits. Almost looks like Uncharted level graphics in an open world. Love little details like the NPC's leaving muddy footprints, wouldn't put it past Rockstar that the mud on those boots also stains the wood and carpet inside those buildings, and causes people to be disgruntled at you, causing a stand off haha.

There are two possible reasons that this has been delayed.
1) Zelda: BOTW has redefined openworld. Rockstar probably wants to improve/tweak their open world based on what BOTW has done.
2) Scorpio and ps4 pro (ALONG WITH BASE PS4 AND XBOX ONE) leads to slightly more development time

This stinks, but everyone subconsciously expected it's being delayed, and it's commendable that Rockstar has tpyically prioritized the quality and polish of their titles versus expediting the release of an unfinished broken product. Additionally, these screens look fantastic. Definitely an early frontrunner for GOTY in 2018.

Did anybody really think this game was gonna come out in the fall? How many times Rockstar done this? Too many times to count. GTA 4 and 5, Max Payne 3, the first Red Dead Remdeption, need I say more? They always release their games in the spring. I Bet this game is going to release between March - June 2018.

We already have heavy hitters this fall anyway like Battlefront 2, Assassin Creed Origin, Call of Duty WW2, and Destiny 2. Rockstar just did Horizon Zero Dawn a favor, by giving the game a chance to get Best Adventure, Best Graphics, and possibly game of the year. Red Dead Redemption 2 from the trailer and screenshots looks like it has the best graphics on consoles ever!!! That would take away the spotlight from Horizon Zero Dawn.

Hahaha, people really don't see the whole picture here. They are delaying it, so Rockstar has a major release during the next fiscal year. This has nothing to do with that it's not finished!

GTA V is still selling alot of copies on the PS4 and Xbox One. It has been in the top 10 charts like freaking EVERYWHERE for a long long time. I guess it's the new customers that buy the console for the first time now, they pick up a copy of GTA V. So for financial reasons, it makes much more sense for them to release it during the next fiscal year. So the books keep looking good next year as well, and even greater!
