Ueda Hints He Could Go Back To Shadow of The Colossus-Like Open World After The Last Guardian

Fumito Ueda revealed today at the Nordic Game Conference that he could go back to an open world type of design similar to Shadow of the Colossus after The Last Guardian.

Well, thats not exactly what he said, but kind of. He was talking about how after working with the small confines of Icos castle, he wanted to do something really open. After that, he wanted to do something more controlled again (TLG).

That made him miss a more open world of SotC. All we know is that his next game will probably be open world. The idea of SotC was very unique, so I doubt he's going to make a SotC 2.0

I would wager some sort of open world adventure game with heavy emphasis on climbing mechanics, with a pinch of familiarity of SotC in boss battles and ofcourse created with the touch of Ueda.

It would be kind of a reverse SotC.

Please do, Shadow of the Colossus was epic. It took me awhile to figure out how to beat the first boss but when I did I had a great sense of achievement. The controls and stamina mechanic was difficult at first but when i got the hang of it the game was awesome. And the ending , wow . I might go play it again soon

Shadow of the Colossus is one of those few Video Games that deserves a true successor or a remake. The game is one of the best products of video games ever made.
