Mass Effect: Andromeda 1.06 Video Comparison With Original Version Showcases Cutscene Improvements

A new patch has been live for Bioware's Mass Effect: Andromeda for the past few days and it showcases strong improvements across numerous cutscenes. Many of these are in the initial hours of the game but it's still interesting to see the changes made. Youtuber Yong Yea has compiled some scenes, comparing the improvements on the original game, patch 1.05 and the current 1.06.

Too little Too Late for me, I stop playing this weeks ago and I'm pretty much done with the game... started off good but went south quick and just became confusing on what I needed to be doing... complete fail.... That should never happen in a game.

Jmanzare2572d ago (Edited 2572d ago )

Its really not that confusing at all. You just follow the main quest line in your journal or do side quests. I beat the game on ng+

cleft52572d ago

Looking at the original version of the game is pure comedy how bad it all was. It's good they eventually fixed it, but I would have rather that they gave a damn the first time around and made it right from the start. No way does anyone look at that original version and not go wow this is bad. Yet, they released that version like it was quality.

It blows my mind how poorly Mass Effect was treated. Quite frankly, I would not be bothered if all of those folks that worked on the original version of Andromeda got fired. It's tragic what they did to Mass Effect.

Unoriginalplayer2572d ago

The journal is a magical object that tells you what you need to do in the game! How many weeks ago did you stop?

The_Sage2572d ago

Crazyglues,

Look at your journal. I never had any trouble. Pick what you want to do and follow the quest marker. Also.... Look at your map.

MizHDTV2572d ago

I was just playing and saying the same thing
I have no idea where to go or what I'm doing

Bioware delivered the same Mass Effect structurally as all the games in the past but the fans were expecting something much deeper in scope. Overall I think this game was crushed by the sky-high fan expectations.

cleft52572d ago

No they didn't, this game is the worse in the series by far. Mass Effect 1 is better structurally then this game and that simply should not be the case. Also, instead of judging Andromeda by Mass Effect games of the past, it should be judged based on current games that where out. Games like The Witcher 3 or at the very least Dragon Age Inquisition. This game doesn't hold a candle to The Witcher 3 and it doesnt hold up to Dragon Age Inquisition either. It's a sad joke how poorly Mass Effect was treated.

Derceto2572d ago

Wow. It's like a whole new. How did you pull of this magic BW? >.>

Even if it were worth a crap, point is, the game on the disc is complete and utter garbage, and that's the version that the owner has to preserve for the future.

The poster child of the "release today, fix tomorrow" mentality, and just how utterly stupid and s**ty it has been, and continues to be.

showtimefolks2572d ago

So they travel to Andromeda and face the same enemies, same races and same languages

They should have just made mass effect 4 instead

Travel all that distance and the only improvement we see is in combat game play

It's on EA not bioware EA told biowatetp focus on other things and don't worry about Polish

TheOttomatic912572d ago

I'm glad they fixed some of the more critical technical issues in Andromeda unfortunately the real glaring issue for me is the writing and I doubt they can make a patch to fix it.

Sam Fisher2572d ago

Man the writing is what turns me off completely. Like im playing this game and the story so far is hey guys lets go to an unknown galaxy pressing unknown buttons to make unknown machines do something unknown that can somehow fix planets we dont know how but hey it works

Sega Saturn made it but not the 360. Don't remember Saturn having a horrid rrod rate. Absolutely horrid

The launch games were all right, but look at how Virtua Fighter and Daytona USA compared to their re-releases.

Mass Effect Companions, Ranked from Worst to Best

From Xfire: "BioWare's Mass Effect franchise took gamers on a fascinating universal sci-fi journey that will never be forgotten. While fighting against the ever-looming threat of the Reapers was central to Mass Effect's storyline, what made the series so iconic was its vast and diverse cast of characters.

Not only do these companions accompany Commander Shepard as you make your way through hell and back, but, throughout your journey, you also get to learn who these characters were and are and what they think about what it is that you are doing. Some will even fall in love with you, and others will even become your enemy based on your decision."

When I looked at the list I thought they were saying Garrus was the worst lol. And tali being so far down the list was fighting words for me. But the numbered list is just the order they are shown so you are forgiven.

CYALTR1112d ago

I think they listed them from worst to best. Also keep in mind that this includes Andromeda characters that aren't part of the remastered trilogy. Interesting refresh on the characters though.

sourOG1112d ago

They did but I didn’t realize it until I started reading. That’s just the order they are shown.

Knightofelemia1112d ago (Edited 1112d ago )

I couldn't stand Miranda I could never like her as a character and I always skipped Jacob and James. I always liked Grunt, Jack, Legion, Tali, Garrus, Samara, Liara, Wrex, Edi, Zaeed, Kasumi I always use these characters. Using Martin Sheen as the Illusive Man just fits the character like using Keith David as Admiral Anderson was another good choice always feels like Goliath from Gargoyles is yelling at you which I like.

Rebel_Scum1111d ago

Kinda weird having a question mark at the end of that sentence?

Soy1111d ago

Garrus is best space bro.

Mass Effect: Andromeda in 2021

Zahi AR. from Link Cable Gaming writes “Welcome back Link Cable Gaming fans, with me in andromeda. Specifically, Mass Effect: Andromeda in 2021. With the recent announcement of Anthem shutting down its future plans, I wanted to look at another recent BioWare game. My switch to a PlayStation 5 destroyed my save file right while I was at the end. So, I decided to do a fresh start on the new console to see just how well (or not) it’s been since launch. How has the new generation of hardware treated the game that fell from grace? Should you play Mass Effect: Andromeda in 2021? Let’s find out.”

Such a good game! It got a 4K X1X upgrade and it looks fantastic! Also like the story! Was playing it again before Series X dropped. Going to download it for the Series X, as soon as I have more room on my HD. Playing too many other games right now.

Instant resume is AMAZING! I can Switch between 5 games in seconds. Like 10 to 15 at the most! No closing a game and opening another one! Thank you Microsoft!

giovonni1177d ago

It’s was decent to me. I didn’t feel the magic I felt when I played two or even three. I don’t know. It was repetitive, and the worlds felt bland.

jeromeface1177d ago

There's a reason it reviewed so poorly in the first place... these reasons among others.

anast1177d ago

I had a lot of fun with this game, but I haven't played 2 or 3 yet.

giovonni1177d ago

2 was wonderful, three was just as good as two the ending though 🤦🏾‍♂️

Wintersun6161177d ago

I finally gave it a go last autumn and was amazed by how bad a game can be. And believe me my expectations were low. After 10ish hours I just had to give up.

giovonni1177d ago

I powered through it, myself. It was just repetitive, and the Land Rover Exploration wasn’t interesting at all. The story also we mahhhhhhh.
