Resident Evil Outbreak PS2 Classic, DO IT!

badz1492557d ago

so...this is all what Capcom is doing now, ha? remasters and re-releases....so many other exciting IPs...wasted just like that! come on Capcom. what the hell happened to you guys this gen?

_-EDMIX-_2557d ago

When haven't they? Last generation they actually brought code Veronica Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3 on PlayStation Network.

The generation before that they ported Resident Evil 2 and 3 and code Veronica over to the GameCube.

I mean you're not really talking about something brand-new unless you're not really old enough to remember that this company has done this often.

I mean you don't even really know if it's Capcom that even directly doing the transfer a job as for the most part most teams don't port their own games , they have teams that are specialized to do so unless you also believe that naughty dog stopped working on Uncharted to make the Uncharted collection...

Some of you guys seriously need to educate yourself on the game industry.

They released Street Fighter 5 Revelations 2 Resident Evil 7 there also making the Resident Evil 2 remake they just released Monster Hunter 3DS that moved well over a million units overnight and they still have other games in development.

Porting games or transferring games has literally nothing to do with brand new development ,the process itself is completely irrelevant to creating brand new games.

in this day and age I'm surprised they are Gamers that are still this uneducated about their own Hobby.

That's like saying you believe a rerun is stopping the development of the show as if literally all the actors are always returning several times a day to redo the exact same scenes perfectly...

Capcom is fallen on Hard Times financially but trust me it has very little to do with why you're seeing ports it's because technically you saw the same thing from all their previous generations... A company does not need an excuse to make money, their purpose is to make money in the first place.

I'm not sure why it would benefit them as a company or even consumers to not port games if it's making them money to create new games in the first place , I'm not sure how them making less money means you get Resident Evil 2 remake or RE8 etc faster...

I mean did you think that the Uncharted collection stop the last of us-2 from coming faster or?

Think.

badz1492557d ago (Edited 2557d ago )

Seriously, just name 1 other significant new game Capcom has released this gen. Aaide from DR3 and 4 and then RE7, what else? Ypu can't deny how lacking they are this gen compared to the last

RosweeSon2557d ago

As long as the online modes aren't ripped out of the U.K version this time please.

microgenius2559d ago

The most difficult Resident evil ever made is back

itchy182557d ago

The airplane part was the hardest for me lol the last time I played this game was in 2002?

Ashunderfire862557d ago

I literally had to restart the whole game because of that part! I save alot of first aid stuff, weapons, and ammo to take on The Titan on that plane. Man is that guy scary looking! I beat the crap out of him as a result.

xtheblackparade2557d ago

Yes agreed, that was the part I had to restart to a new game, because ye know, ammo.

HollowKnight2557d ago

I remember that part where I kept running out of bullets and dieing alot, eventually I knifed that monster to death lol.

scofios2557d ago

My Most difficult goes to outbreak .

d3nworth12557d ago

I agree. Mainly because RE outbreak didn't give you many guns or ammo and the characters weren't trained badasses.

PurpHerbison2557d ago

It isn't so hard when you have a full group but it could very well be the most difficult playing solo.

Umbasa2557d ago

I remember leaving the fire extinguisher at the metal detector in the beginning and then not being able to progress when I got far enough into the Antarctic base which forced me to start over.

RosweeSon2557d ago

Loved it on my Dreamcast back in the day

Tapani2556d ago

Same! It is the only RE I ever completed. Been keen on the RE1 HD remaster on PS4, but is it any good? Which controller scheme is the best?

Becuzisaid2557d ago

Now being in the RE2 remake!

StormLegend2557d ago

Why $14? Could have been for $9.99

_-EDMIX-_2557d ago

Because Capcom needs THIS!!!

LOL

Eidolon2557d ago

Because this RE needs a platinum, and only $14.99 + games get have one, I believe.

RosweeSon2557d ago

Yeah I've banged it in my wish list... 2-3 weeks it'll be half the price ;)

PurpHerbison2556d ago

5$ really makes a difference. I would have purchased it already at 9.99 but I am more than content to wait for a sale.

Actually2557d ago

Actually this was released on Dreamcast and ported to ps2

2pacalypsenow2557d ago

Code Veronica X was the Ps2 version, Code Veronica was on Dreamcast, and also Code Veronica is the true sequel to RE2

Actually2557d ago

Actually I agree with what you said

_-EDMIX-_2557d ago

I think they know that ,they might be referring to that this is the PS2 version in regards to the build.

Shuckylad2557d ago

And ported to the GameCube if memory serves me correctly. Maybe even before the ps2 port.

RosweeSon2557d ago (Edited 2557d ago )

Yep part of the 6 Resi games deal for Gamecube. 1 remake 2/3 ports code veronica, Resi 4 and Resi 0 which is started up barely a year ago thinking chances of playing this again elsewhere... pretty high it would seem as 6 months later it was on PS4 🙄😩😉 28514;
Love the classic Resi's tho.

Cannot wait for Remake of 2 it's prob my favourite in series although 1 always holds a special place originals remakes just love that mansion ;)

Remake of Resident evil outbreak as well as file 2. Same gameplay as the recent remakes. Choose what ever character you want to play as. With online co op.

DarXyde224d ago

I've been dying to see Outbreak come back for years.

Even RE Zero and Code Veronica would be excellent.

But for the love of God, not RE5 or RE6.

One they get around to the aforementioned games, why not remake the original Devil May Cry trilogy? That would be a much better use of time. At the very least, the first two games.

justsomeoffdude225d ago (Edited 225d ago )

code veronica should be the nest remake

neutralgamer1992225d ago

CV is good candidate for a remake but requires way more work for today’s standard. People look at CV through their tinted glasses. I think capcom wants to remake every game up till 6 and fix the plot holes so they can continue the series in one straight story path

Also not sure why only RE have to get remade when there are other capcom games that would be better suited for remakes like oninusha

DVAcme225d ago

That's PRECISELY the reason Code Veronica needs a remake. All the other RE games aged pretty well, considering the limitations of the time, but Code Veronica is the game that would be served the best bybremaking it because it feels so archaic these days.

neutralgamer1992225d ago

DVA

But it depends if capcom wants a big project or a quick remake. CV will require a lot more work than RE5

IMO they should remake other games before doing RE5

TheEnigma313225d ago

how many times do we have to say CV is the next best one?

CrimsonWing69225d ago

Nooooo! Why the hell can’t they do Code Veronica? I just don’t understand.

1Victor225d ago

RE5 is the closest to the bottom of the pot(a little smoky flavor but passable in a emergency) before we get to the burned crust that is 6 that not even the pigs would eat

CrimsonWing69225d ago (Edited 225d ago )

Unpopular opinion here, but I enjoyed 5 and 6. I just think, in terms of Remakes, the classics are the one that should get the treatment above the modern takes of the franchise.

Don’t get wrong, RE4 definitely was an outstanding Remake, but RE5… I just get less excited about a Remake for that over something like Code Veronica.

RaidenBlack225d ago

Nope.
Rather remake other past Capcom & non-mainline RE games ... IF they have to continue churning out Remakes.
I'd rather want a new 3rd person RE spin-off
Dino Crisis and Onimusha Reboot
New IPs after Pragmata ships

Resident Evil 4 Remake Announcement Reignited Interest in a Code Veronica Remake

The announcement that a Resident Evil 4 remake has reignited interest for a Code Veronica remake among fans.

I rather get the code Veronica remake wayyy before re4 remake in my opinion.

RaidenBlack707d ago

Capcom should've gone with the Code Veronica Remake for now and kept the RE4 Remake for a later time when the RE Engine would've matured even more. And also distance itself a bit aesthetically from the recently released and also quite similar looking RE VIII.

KeyAppearance707d ago (Edited 707d ago )

Noticed that myself too, how a lot of the aesthetic would potentially now match with Village, which well, pretty much looks inspired by RE4 itself.

KeyAppearance707d ago

Yeah, love RE4 but would assume Code Veronica would be a lot fresher to more people.

DeathTouch707d ago

Yep, I don’t think that they will go back now, sadly.

jBlakeeper707d ago

Same. I don’t think we will see it tbh.

Shinox707d ago (Edited 707d ago )

Here's some reality check about current greedy Capcom :
1 - CVX will never get a remake and will never happen even if the demand is high
2 - The game got some touchy subjects for its time to fit in current day standards
3 - Greedy Capcom want them normies / casuals they NEVER cared about the fans EVER

if they cared they would have listened to the massive demand for an HD remaster for Outbreak , fans been asking for this for a long time and to this day nothing happened

XiNatsuDragnel707d ago

I know sadly there are going to destroy re4 by making this remake in my opinion and there Is nothing we can do all we can do is ask capcom for that code Veronica remake.

X-23707d ago

Code Veronica was really good, would have enjoyed that being revisited more than RE4 if I'm being honest.
Alfred Ashford's laugh in 4k supported by the RE Engine, damn right, sign me up.
Although I fear because of all the modern day drama over any little thing his character would likely be changed as to not offend any one.

Concertoine707d ago

This is what I was thinking too. The backstory and actions of that character might be perceived as an attack, which is dumb. Who is to say a cross dresser can't be a villain?

I just think Code V deserves a remake because it has easily aged worse than the other games (though still very good). There are parts of it that are very spooky and imagine if they leaned harder towards the moodiness of some of the settings over the campiness of the acting.

-Foxtrot707d ago

Never thought of that

He went crazy and cross dressed as her so I don’t know how they’d do that

Although I mean Psycho is still a much loved horror film and he dressed up as his mother in that so as long as they don’t say anything bad or outdated they could still do it.

Ashunderfire86706d ago

That was truly my favorite Resident Evil game! Code Veronica love ❤️ that game on the Dreamcast! But as a refresher, what was so offensive about Alfred Ashford? It’s Been so long since I played that game during the early 2000s.

DeathTouch705d ago

Nothing, really. Claire calls him a “crossdressing freak” and, TBH, that is the only line that would need to be rewritten to avoid some sort of misunderstanding. Alfred himself having psychological issues trying to emulate his sister would be mostly fine, IMO.

CrimsonWing69707d ago

That’s what I wish they did from the beginning. I think this one will be one of the least interesting Remakes unless they do some radical changes but make it still feel like a full game.

InklingGirl707d ago

It should of been Code Veronica anyway, how many ports of RE4 has there been? I’m tired of seeing the game at this point.

SIdepocket707d ago

They should. For its time, the scope and story of this game were epic.
