I've been dying to see Outbreak come back for years.

Even RE Zero and Code Veronica would be excellent.

But for the love of God, not RE5 or RE6.

One they get around to the aforementioned games, why not remake the original Devil May Cry trilogy? That would be a much better use of time. At the very least, the first two games.

CV is good candidate for a remake but requires way more work for today’s standard. People look at CV through their tinted glasses. I think capcom wants to remake every game up till 6 and fix the plot holes so they can continue the series in one straight story path

Also not sure why only RE have to get remade when there are other capcom games that would be better suited for remakes like oninusha

That's PRECISELY the reason Code Veronica needs a remake. All the other RE games aged pretty well, considering the limitations of the time, but Code Veronica is the game that would be served the best bybremaking it because it feels so archaic these days.

But it depends if capcom wants a big project or a quick remake. CV will require a lot more work than RE5

IMO they should remake other games before doing RE5

RE5 is the closest to the bottom of the pot(a little smoky flavor but passable in a emergency) before we get to the burned crust that is 6 that not even the pigs would eat

Unpopular opinion here, but I enjoyed 5 and 6. I just think, in terms of Remakes, the classics are the one that should get the treatment above the modern takes of the franchise.

Don’t get wrong, RE4 definitely was an outstanding Remake, but RE5… I just get less excited about a Remake for that over something like Code Veronica.

Rather remake other past Capcom & non-mainline RE games ... IF they have to continue churning out Remakes.
I'd rather want a new 3rd person RE spin-off
Dino Crisis and Onimusha Reboot
New IPs after Pragmata ships

But if not that, I'd sooner them do RE 0 or RE 1 before 5.

Makes more sense as it shows Chris and Weskers rivalry more to set up RE5

I just hope when RE5 comes it’s single player driven with drop in / drop out co-op that has no effect on the story, then at least both audiences win and get what they want.

Yeah

The issue is if they do CV after they might end up adding scenes between Wesker and Chris that don't really line up with RE5.

You know how it is with things which act as prequels after the main story has been done first, I'd rather see them as much as they can in CV first and expand on that with RE5

I am fine with whateva next game in the series Capcom desides to remake. I have loved all of them and they outdid themselves with RE4 Remake. If I had a vote, I would vote for CV next.

REmake is still so good 21 years later (!!) that as much as I'd love it I don't think we'll get it. CV could sure do with one, especially after reintroducing Wesker in RE4make, but 5 seems the most likely option.

Honestly it will also be the one to most likely benefit from the changes - I still loved the heck out of it back in the day - and I feel almost the entirity of 6 would be retconned given the chance. I think it's possible they'd actually get rid of Sheeva and have 5 as a single player experience if it happens.

I don't think re5 should be the next remake from a story perspective. The main focus of re5 story dealt with the history between Chris and Wesker, remake only players barely know who Wesker or even Chris is.

What about RE1? I feel like RE5 is when the series kinda stepped backwards, and then a little further back with RE6. Im not saying dont remake them, im just surprised they haven’t overhauled and remade the original

The answer is always "whichever will be most beneficial to them", whether its finances or public relations. If I were to guess, it would be a mixture of both finances and pr , so whichever game can deliver those is considered the "best" choice. I often see people make the mistake of stating that a certain RE game "should" be remade and then proceed to list reasons often forgetting that its a business and the end goal is always to make money. So they(companies) will make games that bring in the most money and they will keep good pr because it leads to more money. Money is 99 out of 100 times the motivation for remakes , especially when it comes to AAA games.

Sales wise RE5 remake would be the safest bet for a big success. I wish they'd take a bit of a chance and take on CV though, it could (probably would) end up being one of the classic games in their history.

Either Code Veronica or RE1 remake (again) is The right choice, THEN 5. That way you can set up Wesker as the bad guy and change the ridiculous ending sequence of 5.
