Ubisoft is working on the next Assassin's Creed game. The title has been in development for a while now, and hopefully a reveal will be coming soon.

Ubisoft is taken things in the right direction. And people should acknowledge and commend that. They are finally trying to change their ways. Especially in for honor. All future dlc is free in order to not alienate the community. Also this.
When companies listen we should let them know it is responding well.

PapaBop2563d ago

No they just found ways to alienate the For Honor community in other ways instead, namely by shoe horning in gear scores for MTs. I'd rather the DLC be paid for than getting matched up against people who I'm clearly better than but because they've played the game longer than me, they can kill me in one revenge hit while I hit them 6 times and barely do any damage.

victorMaje2563d ago (Edited 2563d ago )

True but personally I'll need more than just an announcement.
I stopped buying Ubisoft games & honestly I feel I made the right decision.
Of course I'll be looking into the next AC, but I'll wait for a few reviews from different sources before getting it. Then, if the game ends up being fun, only then will I decide if they've regained my trust. But that's just me.

WikusVanDeMerwe2563d ago

They didn't do any of that because they wanted to, they had to do it in order to not go under because of how they have been doing business over the years.

nveenio2563d ago

I actually disliked the naval combat most of all. I quit playing AC games when they forced so much of that in Black Flag.

I disagree. I don't think they should be looking to Skyrim for inspiration. The stealth and combat need improving and Skyrim does neither of those well. And while the naval combat was great in Black Flag I would rather see Ubisoft use it for a new pirate IP than being put into yet another AC game.

attilayavuzer2564d ago

Even though skyrim's stealth wasn't particularly realistic, it was fun as hell.

Lighter92564d ago (Edited 2564d ago )

Where'd you come from?

spicelicka2564d ago

I don't think they would be looking to Skyrim for stealth and combat at all. It's most likely the RPG system they're taking inspiration from.

Kyizen2564d ago

Exactly, AC does good stealth and combat, but lacks interesting side quests and encounters that is what they are looking to Skyrim for

Liqu1d2563d ago

That's not what AC needs imo. I've never played AC I thought it needs better RPG mechanics but multiple times I've wished it had better stealth and combat.

@Kyizen There was a lot of trash side quests in Skyrim though, especially the radiant side quests.

_-EDMIX-_2563d ago (Edited 2563d ago )

Wait a minute? You know exactly what they're taking inspiration from in particular in Skyrim?

It's very likely that talking about the RPG elements and why would they not take inspiration from one of the best selling RPGs of all time as well as one of the most awarded?

Liqu1d2563d ago

I never said I did. I pointed out what I think needs improving and said that Skyrim doesn't do those aspects well. They are several other games they should be looking to for inspiration.

_-EDMIX-_2563d ago

"never said i did"

Oooooook then how do you know that is what is being looked at from Skyrim ie " doesn't do those aspects well. "

Sooooo where are you getting that THOSE are the aspects they are taking from Skyrim?

The article doesn't even remotely say such at thing, that would be like me saying " I don't think they should be looking to Skyrim for inspiration, the graphics need improving"

OH but "I never said I did" simply that "Skyrim doesn't do those aspects well"

LMFAO!

Soooooo again, you understand that you don't know what they are taking from Skyrim, but lets just throw a hailmary and say Stealth even with ZERO word of such a thing being mentioned in the article?

Ok bud.

You jumped the gun and basically began guessing.

"They are several other games they should be looking to for inspiration"

But you don't know why they are looking at Skyrim, thus irrelevant. If they are adding more RPG elements, they've picked one of the best series in the world to look at.

Its why even Zelda, Witcher and Horizon still reference Skyrim when being described.

No one is saying Skyrim is Metal Gear in Stealth, no one is saying Skyrim is the best looking game of all time THUS that is why they are looking at it etc.

Skyrim is an RPG, it is talked about because of those elements and its amazing world building and NPC complexity. Any game looking at Skyrim for those elements is doing the right job.

Unless you think the ghost in Witcher 3 known as the NPCs are better when they are not aware of your existence and you can steal from them with zero consequences, you can't even kill most NPCs in games, Skyrim...you kill someone, a quest legit might have been lost, you get fined, etc

If Skyrim did everything wrong, we would not be talking about it still in 2017.

How many times do you hear someone reference GTAIV? We reference GTAV because it MET and BEAT GTAIV feature per feature.

Until a game legit comes out and has all of Skyrim's features and beats them, they will be the standard people use for RPGs. Even the best RPGs released today don't even have bare minimum Skyrim

Its 2017 and developers are STILL talking about that game. Pretty sure its not because of its combat or "stealth". Its based on its NPC complexity, world building, RPG elements etc.

You going to say its going to be in first person too based on what they are saying? lol

rynodigital2563d ago

Yeah yeah yeah. As long as I can put a bucket on the head of a vendor and rob them blind, that's good enough for me!

I don't see how turning into an RPG has anything to do with Skyrim. But please don't let the naval parts be a main focus.

ziggurcat2564d ago

"... please don't let the naval parts be a main focus."

it probably won't be.

dilbig52564d ago

That's the only reason I didn't finish Black Flag. I get the setting, it needs to have sea battles and going around on a ship. But it just doesn't feel like an assassin when you do it.

10 Video Game Sequels That Saved Their Franchise

Video game sequels like Assassin's Creed Origins, Doom (2016), and Fire Emblem Awakening were just what these franchises needed to be revitalized.

Immagaiden375d ago

Lmao what’s Halo Infinite doing on this list?

Who would ever say Halo Infinite saved the Halo franchise

SullysCigar375d ago

Thought the same - very bizarre!

RE7 though... my God, what a shift over RE6! That franchise was definitely going in the wrong direction, so RE7 was a welcome return to form.

ModsDoBetter375d ago

Resi 6 was and still is the worst entry in the series.
7 was a great turnaround, despite people’s concerned about the switch to FP perspective.

DMC5 definitely helped the franchise after the whole DmC debacle. Whilst it was a decent action game, it was a far cry from the series and the characters we knew.

AC Origins is my favourite in the entire AC series. Despite the switch to a more RPG style of gameplay - the setting, soundtrack, length, etc were all amazing. sadly followed up by the ridiculously long and “more of the same” Odsyssey.

I don’t feel it’s fair to say the franchise slipped with Doom 3, Doom 3 was incredibly atmospheric and took the game in a different direction but there’s no denying Doom (2016) was sensational.

Halo 4 & 5 were disappointing but Halo Infinite definitely didn’t save the franchise? What?

TheEnigma313375d ago (Edited 375d ago )

I'm going to have to go with SMB 3. I was around when SMB 2 first came out and people hated it. 3 is still arguably the best mario game created.

HellspawnPR1981375d ago

"Halo Infinite"? Worse Halo ever. Whoever made this list just lost all credibility.

Hofstaderman375d ago

In future lists of a similar nature I have a suspicion Final Fantasy XVI will feature.

Six Best Historically Accurate Games

GF365: "Out of the many historically accurate games out there, these are our picks for the six best games that are historically accurate. While these games aren't completely accurate, they depict the times and situations of history well. Plus, they're all a lot of fun to play, too."

Historically accurate from the past is tough to truly know and judge especially the farther you go back because history is written from the people in power and doesn’t mean it’s the truth just the narrative they wanted to tell.

I don’t care about historically accurate in most games because they are games not biographies or history books . Just make the game fun , good gameplay and such .

Ghost of Tsushima wasn’t historically accurate in many things but I loved the game . Many examples like it .
