Darksiders 3 Announced

THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games have announced that Darksiders 3 is currently in development and is scheduled to release sometime in 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

It's look great, but the question is still remain is that what happens to Strife ? The only we seen its his two pistols which War and Death are both carrying it. Mercy and Redemption. Of course, Darksider 3 is prequel to the original Darksider and same time in DarkSiders 2.

So, I checked out Gunfire Games, the ones making Darksiders 3, and yes this team was founded by 7 core members of Vigil Games. Vigil Games is the original team that made the Darksiders games. Gunfire Games also did the remastered PS4/X1 Darksider games as well. So yes guys, we are going to get a true Darksiders 3 game here. I am so happy this is happening.

It can't be. In Darksiders 2 War was still put to sleep so it can't be the same timeline. The only setting where this game makes sense is immediately after War's first awakening but before he was "punished" and put back to sleep to be reawakened.

To clarify The only way the scene with Fury mocking War (which she wouldn't dare do if he was loose, as the last time she took on War he trounced her. It's in the comics) could make sense is if it is taking place just after the end of the Prologue stage of the first Darksiders when War is brought before the Council and blamed for the crime he didn't commit.

This also probably means that when it's Strife's turn there will be a similar timeline as Death's and Fury's.

Darksiders is around the four horsemen of the apocalypse, right? Fury isnt one of them, so which seal was opened to let her out? Or is she the fifth of the seven seals to be open. Or are they diverting from the four horsemen to allow for a women (no its not a sexist thing) Im just wondering if it has become evil practice to cast a man as the lead?

First of all in the Darksiders universe there is no Pestilence or Famine , they are instead called FURY and STRIFE

Second of all , FURY has had that design since the first Darksiders. look it up and you'll screenshots of the cinematic.

Death is the only horseman that is named in Revelations. Pestilence, Famine, and War are never named. In fact, it is Death that is charged with killing by the sword, plague, famine, and by the wild beasts.

Pestilence isn't even universally agreed upon. Some call the rider of the white horse Conquest.

In any event, THQ Nordic has a creative license to name their horsemen whatever they want.

Fury (like Hell hath no Fury) has always been portrayed as a female in the Darksiders mythos.

You are right they are never named other than Death but if you continue reading you will see that the other three horsemen are representations of famine, war and pestilence.

It's based on that as well as Norse mythology. It's really them just taking a concept and making it a fantasy world of the concept and not taking it directly at point.

Also, no 'sex' of the horsemen has ever been revealed in the Bible. They are merely the 'horsemen' which is a gender neutral term.

Also, the 'four horsemen' have been outlined since the first game. They aren't just throwing a woman in there, she has been planned from the get-go. "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." That might tell you why they originally designed Fury as a female character to begin with.

How sad is it that people have to look for a 'sexist' agenda in everything in this day and age rather than accept that, among 4 eventual main characters, one of them is going to be female.

No, it's not. Back then, the human race was referred to as mankind. And it's carried into our culture today on most levels. in romantic languages the plural of multiple male gender references can mean multiple men or a mix of men and women.

Ils mangent des tacos. Ils is the masculine plural, but translates to they.

Ellos comen tacos. Ellos, again, is the masculine plural, but translates to they.

And in English we have only recently started to utilize woman in certain phrasing. A bit after the Bible was written. Policeman still is gender neutral as are actor, priest, craftsman, crewman, etc.

This is great and I loved Joe Mad's art the first time I saw it on Marvel Comic's Presents covers back in 92 and I really enjoyed the first two Darksiders when I first played them on PS3 but I never completed part two so I just got the Fury Bundle on PSN for $19.99. It comes with the Warmastered and Deathinitive editions.

I hope they don't carry over the awful loot system from two. I hated that the unique weapons were very quickly relegated to uselessness by the random loot.

I also hope that Fury isn't just another flat character with nothing but sass and snark. Make her casually competent like Furiosa from the recent Mad Max film.
