It seems like no journalist actually understands the reason behind these midgen upgrades - you do realize that the mass market 4k adaption has started during the last 24 months? There's probably not many other reasons for that so I wouldn't claim that this is going to be normal from now on.
i think we'll be seeing many different editions of consoles when new ones launch..and i do think a ps5 isn't too far if project scorpio takes off.

Interesting bit about the possibility of upgrades and different editions. MS hasn't mentioned anything about Scorpio being upgradable in regards to RAM or anything else? If Sony were to release a standard version of the PS5, and a PS5Pro at launch, there are pros and cons to doing this, but I really don't know if this is a good or bad idea.
The Scorpio more than the pro, as the pro is being handled differently than what im seeing work the Scorpio. But sales will be the determining factor for if this becomes standard practice.
