Nothing he says could justify the price

So is this s new game or is it the same one from PSN and Xbla with new features? I swear they make it sound like it's some new version but it looks exactly like street fighter 2 hyper hd remix.

it is Not the same one from PSN/XBL ( I own them).

They make it sound like a new version because it is.

new mechanics like grapple breaks and re-tunes some aspects of the game's balance. Combo timing has also been adjusted from the original games.

The game is playable in two graphical styles: the classic pixel art graphics of the original game, and updated high definition graphics in the same style as 2008's Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (just from a visual stand point is the reason why everyone thinks this is the same as the PSN/XBL version).

the original arcade soundtrack and voice-acting, while in the updated graphics the game is played in 16:9 widescreen and includes newly-remixed music and the characters' Japanese voices from the Street Fighter IV series.

Ultra Street Fighter II has a roster of nineteen characters. In addition to all seventeen fighters from Super Turbo (including Akuma, who is no longer a hidden character), two characters–Evil Ryu and Violent Ken–have been added to the game's roster.

The game features local and online multiplayer.

A local cooperative game mode, known in the Alpha games as "Dramatic Battle", has been added in Ultra Street Fighter II.

there is also an exclusive new Street Fighter V/Street Fighter IV-styled first-person battle mode known as "Way Of the Hado"

The Color Edit mode, the player can make their own alternate palettes for each of the 19 fighters, then use them in Arcade Mode, VS Mode and Online Battles, allowing for the storage of up to 10 custom palettes for each character. ( Had this in Capcom vs SNK - not sure you could of used your custom color online multiplayer)

So no this isn't the old remix, not a brand new game either.

So... yes, it is the same SSF2THDR game... with new features added to it and a few gameplay tweaks.

Definitely not worth the asking price in my opinion.

Cammy still has messed up eyes in this version.

New characters would have been nice. And I don't mean Evil Ryu and Hangry Ken, or whatever his name is. I mean like, actual new characters.

Something tells me this is a Ninty issue not a Capcom one.

You're half right. Nintendo Switch cartridges cost more than discs, so physical copies cost more. BUT Nintendo allows publishers to charge what they want for games on the consoles. Capcom goes the cheap route and uses smaller capacity cartridges to recoup costs, opting to make larger parts of their releases downloadable, and now it seems that they STILL overcharge you compared to releases on other consoles to cover the "Switch tax." So maybe don't be so quick to absolve them of guilt here. If anything, Nintendo is guilty of using an expensive format.

Definitely not buying these games at that absurd price. Fanboys might buy up anything for Switch but not level headed gamers.

I still can’t believe so many Switch owners bought that Street Fighter II port at such a high price. No wonder so many publishers believe they can get away with higher priced games on Switch, especially when Nintendo itself makes an unchallenged habit of it
