Call of Duty World War II: Sledgehammer Games Has Been Researching WWII for 2.5 Years

Sledgehammer Games Co-Founder Michael Condrey talks about the research done for Call of Duty World War II in a new video.

UCForce2585d ago

Well, COD have three devs.

-Foxtrot2585d ago

Really? They were always planning on going back to WW2?

I don't know...it feels like Battlefield 1 was a wake up call along with the lower reception of Infinity War.

Abriael2585d ago

After 9 years since the last WW2 COD, i don't think it's unrealistic to believe that Activision thought on its own that it was about time they went back.

DeadSilence2584d ago

Yeah and they would make the game in less than 1 year right Loooooooooool Lmfao

Darkwatchman2584d ago

Exactly. Foxtrot is always talking sh**. Constant complaining and trash talking of games, developers, publishers, etc...when 90% of the time, it's unwarranted and him just wanting to say something negative just for the sake of it. I don't understand how he is allowed to comment. A user like him should be banned. Even more aggravating than obvious trolls that are just far past the point of even bothering with.

-Foxtrot2584d ago (Edited 2584d ago )

I didn't say it like that...don't twist what I say. I just said "were they always going back to WW2?"....question mark etc

Battlefield 1 to developers would have made it's way about the industry LONG before it was announced to us. Developers do talk to each other you know.

Although with how repetitive the games are and reskinned most of the time...if someone did tell me they were made in a year...I would quite happily believe them.

@Darkwatchman

Here we go

The guy who "bitches about people who bitch". Hypocrisy hasn't smelt so fresh.

With the way you post man, the way you stalk and probably send PMs to people abusing them because they aren't agreeing with you or don't share your views...you'll be banned quicker then me.

Next_gen_20152584d ago (Edited 2584d ago )

@DeadSilence

You do realise CoD devs re-use a huge chunk of their game-code and graphics. Its very possible for them to make a CoD game in a year.

-Foxtrot2584d ago

@Next_gen_2015

Short ass campaign aswell

Same structured multiplayer

They've done WW2 before in past COD games

It's possible. We don't know the truth but it could happen.

I mean I can't believe some of these games have 3 years on them when they are roughly the same.

annoyedgamer2584d ago

lol@darkwatchman tell us how you really feel

Papafynn2584d ago (Edited 2584d ago )

Hhmmm, I don't think you know how games are made.

Pssst: it takes a good deal longer than a year.

Kingthrash3602584d ago

^^^^^^ guy dosnt get it lol

GrubsterBeater2584d ago (Edited 2584d ago )

You don't get it...

Let me explain it to you, because everyone thinks you're a dumb-dumb right now...

They release a new Call of Duty game every year...

You're welcome.

ShadowWolf7122583d ago

@GrubsterBeater
They also have THREE development teams working in three year cycles. A new CoD every year kinda doesn't mean anything in that regard.

TGGJustin2584d ago

They didn't just come up with this idea in the past year when we learned about BF1. They very clearly had the idea to go back to WW2 several years ago. It takes more than a year to make a game.

MasterCornholio2584d ago

I hope that research pays off. I would hate for the game to not represent history well.

ziggurcat2584d ago

This will probably be the very first COD I've purchased, and the first one I've really played since World at War. I'm a huge WWI/WWII person, so it's nice to see them go back to that era.

dRanzer2584d ago

Looks like they taking this game very seriously.
Cross fingers Sledgehammer.

FITgamer2584d ago

Same outdated engine, P2P network, with the worst of the 3 COD devs. You'll have to do whole lot more than cross your fingers to think this game will be any different from the previous games.

Crossplay Will Be In College Football 25 But Not In Online Dynasty Mode

EA Sports dropped their first gameplay trailer for College Football 25 today and the game looks truly amazing. Buried in the details of the game hype, however, is a significant letdown for those who play online dynasty (a significant portion of the userbase).

Resident Evil 1 Remake To Have Slower Pace; Will Further Expand On The Game's Lore

Many details for the upcoming rumored Resident Evil 1 remake have already leaked online. Capcom appears to have huge ambitions for it.

XiNatsuDragnel15h ago

Sounds interesting I'll be interested in the second remake of re1

Cacabunga15h ago

They game cube remake was mind blowing.. another remake would be nice but i was really hoping for Code Veronica first

-Foxtrot14h ago

If it's true they are probably leading up to RE5 with the Chris vs Wesker story

RE1, CV and then RE5

Terry_B13h ago

Their REmake is still one of the best 3 video game remakes ever made.

Cacabunga12h ago

Terry

Zero was not a remake but an amazing game as well. I hope they remake that one one day with some coop play.. great great game

maelstromb8h ago

The whole Lisa Trevor side-story was an incredible addition and really fleshed out more of the lore. It could have easily felt tacked on to artificially extend the length of the game, but it felt 'right' like it should have been in there from the beginning. I'm hoping they include that in the Re-remake.

Cant wait until they cut the basement section and replace it with something worse.

Becuzisaid15h ago

While I want another modern remake of 1, I think code Veronica should be first. The first re1 remake holds up amazingly well. Give CV it's due.

Scissorman15h ago

As long as the Crimson Heads are back.

Nerdmaster2h ago(Edited 2h ago)

I hope they don't. They were created mainly to justify Wesker not really dying, and they do create more tension, but they don't make much sense.
Re-reviving things that were twice dead? Why would the virus stop there and not keep reviving them forever (until the head gets destroyed)?
And also the characters knowing that destroying their heads keep them from becoming crimson heads, while having a combat knife and lots of heavy objects around to do it while they're down, but having to rely on lucky shots or burning them with oil?
They can create other stuff that serves the same purpose of creating tension but that makes more sense.

Come on State of Play already!!!

That's hilarious because he did and said the same thing with 2K Marin who developed Bioshock 2

They've been closed since 2013 but not officially acknowledged

He just doesn't want the backlash so pretends there's no issue.
