For some games, getting delisted - the fancy term for being removed from online marketplaces like Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and Steam - may as well be a death sentence. If a beloved game exists in physical form, getting delisted isn't the end of the world, as you can still seek out a disc copy of titles. But if the game only ever existed as a download, and the means to buy or reacquire it have been cut off, that game effectively goes away, save for the precious few who kept them on their hard drives and have resolved never to delete them.
The sirens are sounding again, beckoning you back to the foggy ghost town as we rank all the Silent Hill games, from the chilling classics to the misguided missteps.
I mostly disagree with Downpour's position. Yeah, the game is not amazing by any stretch of the imagination but is much better than the HD Collection and Homecoming. The main issue is the performance, but that was mitigated by the patches, especially on the PS3. Personally, I put it a little behind Origins and The Room.
Having Restless Dreams as a different entry from Silent Hill 2 is also a choice.
silent hill 2 is definitely the best one out of those.
for me personally, the whole ritual/cult stuff was always so weird to me in all the other games.
No disrespect but I put SH2 over 1. 1 is fantastic, but 2 took it all up a level.
Everyone is trying the shared universe thing these days, but Marvel and Capcom were mashing up their most beloved characters decades ago. Perhaps their best crossover effort was Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes, which was released on the PlayStation 2 & Xbox on Nov. 19, 2002, in North America. Previous releases took place in arcades and on Sega’s beloved but ill-fated Dreamcast console. Later releases came out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360’s digital storefronts.
Former employees of Backbone Entertainment have formed a new company called Digital Eclipse. On Twitter studio head Mike Mika confirmed they would love to help the fans. In addition to having ported MvC 2 before, the studio has worked with Disney on re-releases of the Disney Afternoon Collection, Aladdin and The Lion King. Legions of fans are waiting for Marvel vs. Capcom 2 to take them for one more ride.
From Eurogamer: "Konami horror project P.T. has been made playable on a PlayStation 5, via a hacked PS4 emulator.
Streamer and dataminer Lance McDonald has managed to get the game working on a non-jailbroken PS5 console.
Essentially, a legitimate copy of P.T. is required as well as an active PSN account on both a jailbroken PS5 and a normal, fully updated PS5. The emulator is then transferred from one to the other."
Hopefully the October 19 Silent Hill announcement makes it so that I don’t need to fret with eBay and all of this emulator nonsense to enjoy a 10 minutes demo for Halloween….
How does Konami not appreciate how much they spite their face when they tarnish Kojima’a legacy?
So Misleading. You can download if you bought apart from Pt. I've redownloaded Scott pilgrim plenty of times
This is why we need PC release atleast for these kinds. Just like Wolfenstein 2009 and No One Lives Forever, PC gamers will make sure it survives.
And that is why I relish going with physical. :)
