Now is the time for a Halo: The Master Chief Collection 4k Edition

Jason Stettner of Gamerheadquarters writes; "Halo: The Master Chief Collection sadly had a rough launch that really caused some issues within the Halo Community and while the game runs fine in its current state, now is the time to give the collection a 4k update."

The frame rate takes a huge hit when player 4 player splitscreen so i can't wait to see how the scorpio handles things.They most likely will patch it for 4k.

Yeah, seriously we don't need a whole new remaster, etc, that's time better spent on another game, hopefully a new IP from 343. Don't need a 4K patch really but since it's not a helluva lot to do so it would be cool to see.

Gman32, issues are one thing, but MCC is unplayable..the matchmaking system does not allows us to get into games.

I love HALO and purchased two X1s for my home and mainly for the MCC. Whatever remains to be fixed in the MCC is dwarfed by the damage 343 has done to the franchise.

And whoever engineered the structure and wrote the code for Spartan Ops should be hung. They completely lagged out what would have been a great experience.

After 6 anyways, we all know it's already being made. Curious how it will look on scorpio (new Gears too).

Maybe go back after a new IP or two but don't just make Halo because its halo. Same goes with Gears later on. A Trilogy maybe but then break time for it too.

Get that last game "perfect" and just support it well with free dlc, events and such to keep the IP alive but without having every member focused entirely on the same IP year after year.

They can always come back to it if they feel the need but we don't need the same franchises forever (and i love both halo and gears). It would be interesting to see what else the teams could do, be it new shooters or a different genre all together.

I didn't really like 5 (campaign), or 4 for that matter. I don't believe 343 make good halo games but I do believe they are very talented devs and could really thrive on their own IP. Having said that though, it makes absolute sense to complete the current trilogy that they're working on. It would be strange If they didn't finish off the last few plot points left to deal with. Haven't played gears 4 yet (aside from a small section at gamer con which was very fun) but I imagine they're going for a new continuous story line there too so I can't see gears taking a break any time soon.
As for 4k patch for MCC, that would be great!

Yes honestly give Halo a break at least for a little while. The biggest surprise would be if 343 announced a new AAA ip. Its worst enough that Rod Ferguson only wants to make Gears when he opened up Coalition (rolls eyes)

Not really fans and media are saying they want something new from 343 because they know there's a powerhouse of talent over there. If 343 ever does a new ip maybe like a sysfy shooter, Hero Shooter, or MMO esque Multiplayer that people will play for years down the road at the same time every other year or so releasing a new Halo would be fantastic because I have super high hopes a new Ip from these guys would be huge and will definitely sell well. But the Halo fanbase is still getting served at the same time.

I dunno how realistic that is releasing new 2 different games a year from 343 but MS needs to something.

It wouldn't solve ALL of MS game problems but it would put MS in great position going in the right direction.

It would be interesting to see what they could do with a new sci-fi setting all their own. Sort of how Bungie did with Destiny and Bioware did with Mass Effect (after Kotor of course)--something vaguely similar but all their own.

They could either stick to the same or similar genre (shooter) or branch out completely (like Guerrilla did--still Sci-fi but nothing like Killzone).

Don't get your hopes up. Games were made with 4K assets starting with GOW:UE. This was well before that and the amount of gamers that still play it doesn't make it worth the extra time.

What about Halo 3 Anniversary Edition? Isn't that due this year? They will probably include a Halo 6 Beta too and the game will no doubt debut at E3 2017 with a Fall 2018 release date.
