Looking forward to this one but it's gotten average reviews so far

Yes reviews have been lukewarm so far...but it shouldnt detract you from playing it if you are a platformer fan.

With the fixes being those that reviewers complained about I wouldn't be shocked to see this score better if re-reviewed.

Totally agree. Reviews are interesting for this one too. There is such a disparity in reception. Some people absolutely hate it. They call it archaic, poorly designed, and cite performance issues for lowering the score even further. Others think it's great. A revival of a genre that has been underrepresented in the past decade, presenting some minor issues, but otherwise being exactly what was anticipated, rating it as high as 8 to 8.5 on numbered scales.

Overall, I'm sure this will be slightly disappointing, but like with the Jimquisition giving the game a 2/10, I have a really hard time taking some of the reviews seriously. I get it if you aren't the collectathon type, but a 2/10 is a game that is fundamentally unplayable, flawed to the core. I feel a 4 or 5 is as low as a score should go for a game that works fine, is playable, but the content is pretty much a total miss.

I'm still looking forward to this one, and even if I end up not really enjoying it, that is simply the risk presented by backing a Kickstarter.

It has. But all the positives are "Feels like a classic Platformer, gameplay, worlds, collectables etc." All the negatives I've heard are some camera issues and some performance issues, like framerate.(especially on Xbox One).

So a game that feels great to play for people that loved Banjo Kazooie? The Positives Y-L needs are all there

Banjo-Kazooie were originally going to be in Yooka-Laylee

Playtonic is a developer made up of a bunch of former RARE devs, and the first title they worked on was the 3D platformer, Yooka-Laylee. Those who followed RARE over the years definitely saw the DNA of Banjo-Kazooie in Yooka-Laylee, but it turns out the original plan was even deeper than that.

Wouldn’t they be exclusive to the Xbox One version just like they were exclusive to the Xbox 360 versions of Sega All Stars Racing

Although since Banjo-Kazooie skins were available in every version of Minecraft, it could’ve been possible for the same to apply for Yookah-Laylee
