My favorite gaming podcast and now it's just gone. Well, at least I have Easy A to listen to, love me some Easy A podcast, and Frame Trap.

peewee110162592d ago

Yeah i was hoping they would keep it going but TBH... The knowledge that Colin had no will match. It will never be the same and TBH #ISTANDWITHCOLIN... No longer a fan of KindaFunny

peewee110162592d ago

Also after Colin left Kindafunny SUB count and TOTAL views fell almost 15k subs and over 1mil views...

BlakHavoc2591d ago

Ya I saw that, imo that's exactly why they brought in Andy Cortez. Although Greg said it wasn't a direct reaction to Colin leaving, ya it was lol. You lost a ton of subscribers and views, they're trying to reinvent what KF is now, cause it was Greg and Colin for years.

Rob_Ko2591d ago

damn, I forgot unsubscribe to them..brb

LoveSpuds2592d ago (Edited 2592d ago )

I tuned in every week too but I was always frustrated by Colin's arrogance and self importance so I am delighted to see him shove off, good riddance to the guy, hope he falls into obscurity.

BIGBOSS082592d ago (Edited 2592d ago )

What arrogance? He just gave his honest opinions. If you think that's arrogance, that's your problem, not his. Oh and he's making over 40k on his own on patreon. Same as kinda funny who have 2 patreon's but they split the money between 4-5 people.

yeahright22592d ago

there were a couple episodes ( I think both were of the "prerecorded because we won't be here next week" variety) where both he and Greg did nothing but pretty much tell themselves how great they were. That's about as close to arrogant as I've seen him. the rest just comes off as arrogant, but being a fan for years, I can tell it's not him thinking "I'm better than you."

JimmyDM902592d ago

Colin's whole persona was built around being stubborn and arrogant. For god's sake he had a show called, "Colin Was Right" that was just a soap box for him to say "I told you so." Which is fine, that's his prerogative. The only thing that bothered me about Colin was the hypocrisy of when he'd call out the Internet for being closed minded and overly sensitive while simultaneously exhibiting those same traits whenever he was challenged.

hangdang2591d ago

Jimmy, Colin was always down to talk out whatever point he was trying to make, though. I think the close-minded he hated was the type where any dissenting opinions are shut down with cries of whatever kind of -ism the other side of the argument decided to call him.

yeahright22591d ago

The colin was right was always tongue in cheek. the guy just has a dry sense of humor and doesn't laugh at his own jokes all the time like the marty sliva's out there. Once he made a show out of it, it wasn't "I told you so", it was him getting back to actual games journalism.

There's a higher chance of Kinda Funny falling into obscurity.

Thunder_G0d_Bane2592d ago (Edited 2592d ago )

Sorry but Colin used to speak about being burnt out from gaming. His heart was not in gaming. Hes a politician and I've been saying it a long time before all this happened. I never once took his opinions on games onboard.

Who plays destiny an division solely singleplayer cause you don't like playing with people? Lool they're multiplayer focused games lool

Greg you can tell has true passion for gaming.

All in all I wish Colin the best. What I liked is that he was good at giving industry news but his have a go analyst stuff is generally wildly inaccurate.

BIGBOSS082592d ago

You need to check out his profile on psn. He recently got a platinum trophy for horizon. I don't think he's burnt out, he just doesn't have the time to play every single game anymore. He said this quite often.

yeahright22592d ago

Well, he's said he gets burnt out from time to time. He said it's just he takes a break from gaming and reads a couple books or catches up on movies and tv. then when the bug hits him, he jumps back in.
I think that's the same with pretty much everybody. I know it is with me.

feraldrgn2592d ago (Edited 2592d ago )

"Who plays destiny an division solely singleplayer cause you don't like playing with people? Lool they're multiplayer focused games lool"

I guess I must not be interested in gaming either then for being a solo player on multiplayer focused games.
Been watching Colin for a while, he gave a lot of games a chance & spent ridiculous amounts of time in them, sometimes loving them like "Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning" for example.

The guy is a gamer, he probably just wants to change his career to something other than his hobby to give himself more options in the future.

yeahright22592d ago

While true about Greg, it was, for me, always the dynamic between he and Colin together that made the magic. There've been episodes where one or the other isn't there and it just wasn't the there. The info and opinions were still top notch, but it was missing that je ne sais quoi.

DeadManMMX2591d ago

When his last long time relationship ended Colin went through a change of priorities. Nothing wrong with this if you have never taken a stock of your life and had questions after a life change your not human. I didn't play games much at all from 03-07 I missed the majority of the PS2 era, because life. It happens. Sometimes you want to live and not just use all your hours playing. I never had a problem with him taking a step back and taking stock of things.

I loved the podcast. I hated the podcast. It provided a lot of entertainment but also constantly infuriated me when I completely disagreed with what they were saying.

That said, Greg and Colin had a good show. I didn't always agree with them, but they had passion about what they talked about. Compare that with what has happened to Podcast Beyond. It's now a podcast with hosts who have PlayStations but don't have any passion. IGN's Nintendo and Xbox podcasts are hosted by people passionate about the platform. Beyond is hosted by people who are available to do the podcast.

How Many More Victims, Like Garry's Mod, Will Nintendo's Hurtful Crusade Create?

Hanzala from eXputer: "As Nintendo takes out 20 years' worth of stuff from Garry's Mod, I watch in shock, thinking why it continues to hurt and discourage its fans."

RiseNShine1d 8h ago (Edited 1d 8h ago )

The irony that some of the most disgusting business practices come from companies like Disney or Nintendo, i can't even begin to understand what terrible damage was Garrys Mod making to Nintendo bottom line, imho they're getting pretty nervous about where they're heading in the future, handhelds are no longer something exclusive to Nintendo, from Steam Deck to many others, now you can play the latest games and pay a fraction of the price on Steam sales, so it's up to their exclusives, which just on their own would make hard to justify purchasing a closed overpriced hardware with outrageous price policies (Super Mario Odyssey is still 60 euro 6 years later!), and as a home console they're always underperforming compared to Sony or Xbox.

gold_drake1d 2h ago (Edited 1d 2h ago )

i cam guarantee you, that their exclusives alone is what drives switch sales. they sell in the 10s of millions of copies.

nintendo created their franchises to be sort of nostalgia driven, exclusive only on nintendo.

people will always buy the pkmn games as they always bring in new younger fans amd is family friendly

mario kart, the same thing, mario games in general.

zelda games are system sellers. animal crossing for the casual gamers.

nintendo doesnt need third vame devs essentially. they made sure with the switch and the limitations that they looked more to pc ps and xbox.

its sad, but nintendo is more than fine with what they're doing. they positioned themselves to appeal to the more casual gamers.

but to your point, im not sure why they're doing this rly.

Inverno1d ago

Look at how they handled Nintendo games being streamed or uploaded on YouTube in the past. They killed Yuzu and Citra even when they had nothing to do with ToTK being leaked, not to mention it was basically unplayable on emulation the week it was leaked. Smash Bros tournament, that was fairly recent. They shut down their online services without any care for purchases made. I bought a switch after skipping their last 2 consoles and handhelds but I don't plan on buying anything Nintendo in the future. They take things to the extremes, they legitimately hate their fans. They're honestly right up there with the likes of Acti, EA, and Ubi, only difference is that they disguise themselves as being family friendly all the while being shady.

A new Darksiders game please.

banger8817h ago

Really looking forward to hearing more about the Gothic remake and Titan Quest II. I hope both games make it out this year and don't get delayed.

DeadlyFire9h ago

I'm expecting Red Faction. Maybe a few others. They claim to have many things in development.

Psychonaut854h ago

Please something about Darksiders 4.
