WipEout Omega Collection launches June 6 in North America, June 7 in Europe

WipEout Omega Collection will launch for PlayStation 4 on June 6 in North America and June 7 in Europe, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced.

The collection brings together all the content from WipEout HD, WipEout HD Fury and WipEout 2048, and enhances it for PlayStation 4a and PlayStation 4 Pro. All of the games’ textures have been reworked, and are now so clear when viewed up close that you can even read some of the small text on the ships. In addition to improved graphical effects, the game also supports HDR.

I do love me some wipeout and compilations. two great things that work great together.

crazychris41242602d ago

"The game also adds 28 licensed music tracks from famous musical artists including Swedish House Mafia, Chemical Brothers, and The Prodigy."

Soundtrack alone is worth the price. I need to hurry up and beat some games before I can get this though.

Now if we can just get Resistance 4 or a remastered collection. Missed out on that series.

darthv722602d ago

Just get a PS3 to play the Resistance games. Way easier than waiting for there to be a resistance collection. They are certainly worth a play through.

madforaday2602d ago

One of my favorite gaming memories was Resistance 1 and the MP, I miss the people in the ETS clan!

Sevir2602d ago

Yeah Resistance 1 MP was amazing along with Warhawk. Just good classical and balanced MP.

crazychris41242602d ago (Edited 2602d ago )

I sure as hell won't buy a PS3 just for 3 games but my co worker has one. Could ask to borrow it and buy the games then give him the console and games once done. It would be nice if they had the trilogy on PS Now but they only have the 3rd game.

Muzikguy2602d ago (Edited 2602d ago )

The music for me is the biggest draw for these games. The techno soundtrack is just a perfect fit for these races. I need to get this.

My backlog just keeps on growing

CobraKai2602d ago

I always loved Wipeout's silky smooth gameplay. I still wish there was a replay mode so I can take in the sights I miss during the race.

agamer12601d ago

Who say's there wont be? Things like Photo mode in games are only getting more popular :)

CobraKai2601d ago (Edited 2601d ago )

Photo mode is cool too, but I like watching how well (or terribly) I did with cinematic camera angles. Just to relish in both the victory and the graphics.

Historically, Wipeout never had a proper replay mode. They would show the sleds driving around as the results were presented. At least I as far as I can remember.

Eonjay2602d ago

I have a feeling the next WipeOut game will be VR native from the ground up.

SpaceRanger2602d ago

Jesus that would be wayyy too intense. Motion sickness all around lol

I'm pumped for the game though!

KwietStorm_BLM2602d ago

They had to tone down the last game before release so people wouldn't have convulsions. VR would be straight up lawnmower man.

DaFeelz2602d ago

The article neither confirms nor denies vr support. As a matter of fact, it doesn't even mention it at all. So, there's still hope. Wipeout in vr would be a dream come true for me

5 Best PSVR Games That Need PSVR 2 Ports

Alongside big hitters like Horizon Call of the Mountain, Gran Turismo 7 and Resident Evil Village, PSVR 2 is already home to some of the best PSVR games and experiences, like Moss and Tetris Effect. Better yet, some ports like Job Simulator, Song in The Smoke and Pistol Whip offer free cross-generation upgrades if you bought them for the original PSVR.

There are many PSVR titles we’d love to see leap onto PlayStation VR2. Here's our pick.

True indeed. Great picks. I'd also like Raw Data remastered, LA Noire, Iron Man, Arch Angel, Mortal Blitz and many others. We'll see what gets ported over time.

SullysCigar441d ago

There are so many that would benefit from a PSVR2 facelift with all the bells and whistles.

To add to your list, I'd also like: Hitman 1-3, Xing: The Land Beyond, The Room: VR, Red Matter, Farpoint, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, The Persistence, To the Top, Until You Fall, Arashi: Castles of Sin, Sniper Elite VR, Fracked, Dreams - I'm sure there are loads I've forgotten!

IAMTHEVOID441d ago

To add a sixth game to that list I need on ps vr2 is Vader Immortal

Abnor_Mal441d ago

Did anyone ever play Robinson: The Journey?

Oh and to add to the list I’d definitely put Bravo Team up for porting to PS5. I don’t understand why that game got so much flak when the only problem was the camera zooming out from first to third person when you had to move locations.

Other ports I would like to see wake its way over at some point would be DWVR, Immortsl Legacy, The Mages Tale, Killing Floor Incursion. Never played although I know I own them Unearthing Mars1/2 and Budget Cuts. Doom and Skyrim VR I’m not holding my breath on but would be nice.

EverydayJoe439d ago

I did. Was a beautiful game for its time.

MIDGETonSTILTS17441d ago (Edited 441d ago )

I would just add SUPERHOT.

Great list otherwise.

I’d easily pay $10 for an upgrade for any of these games, or full price for a vr2 version if I don’t own it yet.

Idc if the games are brand new, just as long as they work for my new headset.

Please update and take my money, devs 💰

Six racing games we'd love to play on PSVR2

Since we recently tried out Gran Turismo 7 on the PSVR2, it had us at Traxion.GG wondering what other racing titles might be just as intoxicating on this epic piece of hardware.

Here's a video discussing the games we'd like to see and our thoughts on the chances of a PSVR2 version for each of them.

Profchaos454d ago

I know it's never going to happen but a midnight club LA remaster with psvr2 support would be very high on my list along with NFS underground 1/2.

I wish I could play wipeout in VR but that was the only game I really struggled with motion sickness on.

ApocalypseShadow454d ago

I'd like Motor Storm, Tourist Trophy, Pod Racer, NFS Hot Pursuit 2, F355 Challenge and Mod Nation Racers. Just to start. Could use a lot more over the years.

Abnor_Mal454d ago

While I have no problem with circuit racers,, I would prefer more open world driving/racing games in vr.

Living cities with real traffic with drivers obeying road rules for the most part. Stopping for red lights, yielding for merging traffic and traffic jams.

I use to love just driving around in Midnight Club LA listening to the radio and using my Logitech wheel. I still do the same in the Crew1/2 but it’s not the same.

I’d also like to drive through GTA5s Los Santos in first person in vr but that’s not going to happen with a wheel on PS5.
