TT Games Removed Single Joy-Con Control From Lego City Undercover

The upcoming Switch port of Lego City Undercover adds a much desired multiplayer mode to the game. However, Switch owners will have to buy another set of Joy-Cons or a Pro Controller to access the mode.

How can the publisher remove such a core feature of the console for this game

Similar to the back touch screen on the Vita, the 3D on the 3DS, the gamepad on Wii U, and the touchpad on PS4, or the Kinect on Xbox One; not all developers will utilize features unique to the system.

You don't seem to get what I'm saying. This article says the feature was originally in the game, but then the devs for some reason decided to remove it. That's completely different from ignoring the feature altogether

To me it sounds like they decided to remove it because the control scheme with a single joycon was problematic due to the lack of a second analog to control the camera.

They probably experimented controlling the camera with the gyroscope or something, and decided it just wasn't good enough and removed it.

And you do... two mini-controllers would be a more precise term. They won't work for every game, though.

But they will work on a lot of games just fine for when visits come over. Last week, my brother came to visit, and we played Fast RMX split screen using one joycon each. Good times.

But if you have to buy another controller, then that argument means squat. It is pretty standard for games to use 1 stick to move and 1 for the camera. None of those will work.
