CVG: Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood Review

The action only comes alive when you've got the entire cast to pick between and a catalogue of POW skills to play with. Of course, by this time it's all a bit too late - the finale is impressive, but it comes too quickly. It takes Sonic a whole game to find his legs, but when he does Chronicles zips along wonderfully.

So, when hit with the inevitable 'to be continued...' don't let out the traditional cry of frustration. Instead, think of it this way: there's more to come.

Dammit. I haven't played it but according to review and score, even the BioWare couldn't save the Sonic :(

How is 7.9 a low score? its basically an 8.....that's like "B" right?
Well I'll get it, not because of the score but because i can form my own opinions and that i have always been genuinely interested in this game.

MK_Red5711d ago

I never said it's a bad or mediocre score / review. The thing is that Sonic is in dire need of a great, AAA game because he is one of the gaming icons and after crappy games of late, I was hoping that this will be that game or at least Sonic equal of Super Mario RPG.

I see what you are saying. The only problem about this game from the reviews I've read is that the difficulty is somewhat on the easy side, but that is kind of a hard thing to get down right.

After sonic06 everything seemed bleak. I may have beat the game only because of a bet but i have never played such crap like that in all my life. Hell I'm even hoping sonic and the black night turns out better than that. As for sonic unleashed.... even with all the fan criticism about the werehog(which i don't mind and think it may actually be not all that bad) I'm looking forward to it. Just call me Mr.optimistic.

Well sounds like it's a pretty decent game. The start is a little slow but by the end it's happy day :)

Why Bioware's Sonic RPG Sequel Never Got Made

Despite the fame and popularity of both the studio and the IP in question, not everyone knows that Bioware developed a Sonic RPG prior to them being acquired by EA, Sonic Chronicles for the Nintendo DS, and it was recently detailed in a DidYouKnowGaming video that both Bioware and SEGA were down for a sequel, but it was ultimately canceled for a surprising reason: SEGA was sued for copyright infringement

to be fair tho, the rpg for the DS was a mess.
touchscreen-only was not a good way to make a game like this.

I remember quite liking this, I probably wouldn't now on another go

Knightofelemia309d ago

I wish Sega got together with Square and made a Sonic RPG for the Genesis I would have played that.

Square was too in bed with Nintendo at the time.

I Know It Sucked, But It's Time For Another Sonic Chronicles Game

Just because the first one sucked, doesn't mean Sega should abandon the idea of a Sonic RPG.
