Alot of xbox gamers have gotten Ps4s for these amazing games and many more great ones incoming,I'd even add Nioh to the list. Great exclusives all around on the Ps4 every1 should play

skydragoonityx2602d ago (Edited 2602d ago )

Honestly Xbone gamers would pretty much kill for all PS4's exclusives including knack

G20WLY2602d ago (Edited 2602d ago )

Exactly. Why limit it to just 5? So the counter article looks fair, I'm guessing...

MVGeneral2602d ago

First of all, kudos to the author and website for not putting each point (or game) on a separate page to make us go through one by one.

And secondly, I agree with the article except for 'street fighter v'. It was a weak addition to the franchise. Xbones aren't missing much with that title. They should have instead replaced it with Nioh or even second son, even killzone shadowfall was better than street fighter 5. (Maybe even knack...i dunno.)

uuuuugh... No!!! speaking as a long time xbox fan since the first xbox console, the only exclusives on the ps4 or the ps division as a whole that id love to have on my beloved xbox console is 1. drakes uncharted (no one will ever argue that this is a goty game) 2. resistance 3. syphon filter 4. socom and maybe horizon zero dawn. other than those games, im not interested. not because those other games that i didn't mention aren't good, but because the console that i prefer already has games like it or better with better online support and a much better controller. so there's really no need. but i must admit, the writers list was pretty fair for a good number of gamers. very good line up, but nothing that xbox fans would kill for.

Unspoken2601d ago

No, The Last of Us is a clichéd story with terrible gameplay and dated graphics. I attempted to play it on PS4 and ended up selling it in less than a month. Horizon seems decent but by itself isn't worth buying the system over. There are plenty of open world RPG games to explore. Blood Bourne? Dark Souls covers that. Uncharted for story maybe, certainly not gameplay. Can easily play Tomb Raider instead. Street Fighter? lol It's on Steam with mixed reviews and again many other fighting games to choose from.

I thought exclusives would produce unique experience on the PS4 and none of these choices will produce that. It's just copy and paste and fluffed up pretending to be a an "exclusive" experience.

Thanks for reaffirming why the system is not needed.

DaDrunkenJester2601d ago

No one would kill to have Knack haha

I own every Playstation system, include the handhelds. Was a Playstation fan for a long time. They've always had many great exclusives since the PS1. My first PS1 exclusive that I couldn't get enough of was Battle Arena Toshiden. https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...

True, it was only exclusive for about 6 months, but was easily one of my favorite games for the PS1. I never played on on any other system. Never need to kill or beg anyone to play exclusive games on any system, as I would just buy them myself and play them.

Kallisti2602d ago

Battle Arena Toshiden, I played that when I was a kid but never remembered the name. It's not on the PS store so I'm going to see if I can track a physical copy down online. Loved that game.

XanderZane2601d ago

@Kallisti
One of the best 3D style fighting games for it's time. Played it for many, many months. Put at least 100+ hours into that game. Then I moved onto Tekken 3.

FallenAngel19842602d ago

If anybody wanted to play these exclusives they'd get the console for it. If they didn't feel the need to get the console then I'd doubt that consumer would be interested in that platform's exclusives

Nivekki2602d ago

This guy wants a hand job ⬆️

bluefox7552602d ago

Except that doesn't account for early adopters. People who bought console A or console B without really knowing what the future held.

r2oB2601d ago

I agree with you for the most part, but you have to consider there may be people with limited funds not able to get both consoles. These people may be very interested in the other platforms games but are unable to play them.

KickSpinFilter2602d ago

Street fighter??!!?? WTF Even PS4 players aren't even slapping people in the arm for that game.

Segata2602d ago

Yeah Guilty Gear Xrd and KOF14 are far better games.

IGiveHugs2NakedWomen2601d ago

SF5 was a third of a game at launch. No true Arcade Mode/Single Player Mode is why people say it sucks.

KickSpinFilter2600d ago

Exactly, I liked playing it, but with Arcade Mode

StormLegend2602d ago

Removed Street Fighter V and add something else.

Legatus2602d ago

Ratchet and Clank would be a much better choice imo.

ShadowKnight2602d ago (Edited 2602d ago )

Street fighter is way better after the update and it's a more technical fighter than button smash Killer Instinct imho since I played them both.

81BX2602d ago

Worst street fighter in the series... shit game anyway you slice it!

Liqu1d2602d ago

Not a PS4 exclusive though.

SideNote2595d ago

Nah, killer instinct is a great game. Very fun. Playing a battle toad was cool. I don't have an Xbox one anymore and probably won't find a fighter on my ps4 like this either. But hey, the other games far out weigh this and forza which I enjoyed.

Segata2602d ago

Guilty Gear Xrd or KOF14.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has added a few more titles to the list of games that will be leaving PS Plus in May, 2024.

curious... if a game leaves PS+, does it make it unplayable if you have already claimed it before it leaves? I know on the XB side, games leaving Gamepass are no longer playable. You need to pay for them to be able to continue playing after you installed them from GP.

CrimsonWing695d ago

The 3 monthly “free” games you keep as long as you have PS+ subscription. The PS+ library is like Netflix. They rotate stuff out and replace them with other titles.

MrNinosan5d ago

Yes, PS+ Extra/Premium games are unplayable after the leave the service, just like GamePass and Netflix.
PS+ Essentials games are available as long as you have an active PS+ account.

Profchaos5d ago

Monthly games, special promos like the free games during COVID or PS plus bundle on ps5 are forever yours. Premium and above are time limited

If you claim a game on the premium tier (not yours to keep) and it comes out as a monthly games later e.g. fallout 76 it appears you do not retain ownership on that one.

Notsofast5d ago

The 3-4 monthly games that are free that are part of every service are yours forever I canceled my service over a year and you never lose access. I dont know what these other comments are talking about maybe they are in a different country but in the USA I could play any game I claimed of the free monthly games

MrNinosan4d ago

Then one of the accounts on your PS5 probably has a PS+ Essential subscription.
Because the 3-4 PS+ games you get every month, is not available to be played if you don't have an active sunscription.
It's the same in US, Europe, Japan and everywhere else.

Petebloodyonion4d ago

Essential stays in your library
Extra and premium become locked when titles leave the service.

It's actually one of my gripes with Extra, you can't remove the title from your own library, so basically it countss as one your title but it's locked so you own library become a cluster F... unless you filter your titles.

MrNinosan4d ago

Well you can just chose to hide them.

Wonder if Horizon ZD leaving gives credit to those remake rumours

Sigh. If true…another remake that’s not Bloodborne.

SimpleDad5d ago

Probably yes cause of a remake.

Skuletor5d ago

I still remember them giving that one away for free, regardless of if you were subscribed to Plus or not

ApocalypseShadow5d ago (Edited 5d ago )

They did. It was during the pandemic and the "play at home" initiative.

Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition. Sony gave away a lot of games just to push gamers to stay home and not get infected by COVID.

Eonjay5d ago

I think you're right.
There is a separate Bloodborne rumor by the remake is allegedly scheduled for next gen.

Kingrizzy905d ago

Yes cause of the remake good thing I got the plat
And is bloodborn really that good? I never played it due to being Incarcerated 8½ years but I read the comics. It's pretty dark

Profchaos5d ago (Edited 5d ago )

Highly likely I also bet the remaster will be over priced and under whelming.

I'd also bet most people will simply stick with the PS4 pro and ps5 60fps patch over paying to upgrade when it offers the bare minimum.

I hope Sony has learnt from the last of us 2 and stop remastering games that just came out they have nearly 30 years of content to work with but always remaster games that are like 5 years old and don't need it. I assume this was In development alongside tlou2 so fingers crossed this is the last time we get this because what's next god of war on PS4 to ps5 for 70 dollars probably anything outside of bloodborne

Friendlygamer5d ago

Glad I played sundered and the messenger, both great 2d games

gold_drake5d ago

ahh the messenger is such a good game.

u should play sea of starts. same people, its a sort of prequel to the messenger tok

Friendlygamer4d ago

Oh I will definitely play it eventually, chained echoes too

Jingsing4d ago

Can N4G adopt a policy of games leaving subscription services as not being a new story, it is just spam at this point.

Petebloodyonion4d ago

Is it me or have there been a lot of great games leaving the extra tier but barely anything in terms of wow factor joining the service in return?
When was the last time that Sony added a PlayStation studio game?
Now I don't expect Sony to have day 1 like Gamepass but I would expect to at least care to make the offering interesting especially when they raised the price by 30% last year.

MrNinosan4d ago

PS Studio Games:
May - Destiny 2: Lightfall
April - MediEvil, Jak&Daxter: The Lost Frontier,
March - CoolBoarders

What Playstation Studio games is it you're missing?

Petebloodyonion4d ago

Sight...
let me check my comment again
" Is it me or have there been a lot of great games leaving the extra tier but barely anything in terms of wow factor joining the service in return? "
Yeah pretty sure I mentioned the EXTRA tier and not the PREMIUM tier
but glad that you consider a DLC to a free-to-play game a great offering

MrNinosan4d ago

I repeat my question, what PS Studio games is it you're missing?

And regarding the first part of your comment, lots of great games leaving and nothing added?

What great games iyo has left the service?
For me, "wow-factor games added would be".
Dave the Diver, Tales of Kenzera, Raji, Miasma, The Outer Worlds, Resident Evil 3, Ace Attorney, Rainbow Six Siege, AC: Valhalla, Far Cry 6, Watch Dogs Legion, Both Southpark jrpgs, Fenyx Rising, Tales of Arise, Session, Lego Worlds, Vampire the Masquerade Swansong, Legends of Mana....

And many more.

Compared to what has been removed, the adds are better than the 'offs'.

The 7 Best Souls-Like Games - Mastering the Challenge

The Souls-like genre remains popular, along with FromSoftware's classics there are many contenders. But which are the best Souls-like games?

toxic-inferno40d ago

Hmm... In my opinion, the 7 best are the 6 made by FromSoftware (DeS, DS1, DS2, DS3, BB and ER), then Lies of P. But each to their own.

kevco3340d ago

Still DS1? You don't feel it's been surpassed yet?

Demon's Souls has the remake of course, but DS1 has surely been outdated?

Smellsforfree40d ago

I think that the DS1 remake is better looking than DS2. The interior lighting matched with the low resolution textures in DS2 is very garish, IMO.

Besides graphics, what do you mean by DS1 being "outdated"? I'm someone who played through Elden Ring and just recently played through the DS series, and as far as gameplay went, there were all very similar.

Cacabunga40d ago

I haven’t played many but Bloodborne and NIOH1 are on top of my list.. had a blast with these 2

toxic-inferno40d ago

For world design and interconnectedness (that's a word, right?) DS1 is yet to be beaten.

anast8d ago

All great games beside DS2.

toxic-inferno8d ago

I would agree, but there are some things in DS2 that are great and incredibly memorable. It tries to do things differently, and there are some amazingly cinematic moments.

Of course, there's also poor level design (particularly the interconnectivity of the world), questionable combat choices and some of the worst boss runs since the early days of video games...

anast8d ago

True. I can't disagree the game has some moments.

9 Years Later, Does Bloodborne Deserve All The Praise It Gets?

Saad from eXputer: "Almost a decade later, it's time to take the nostalgia goggles off and accept that Bloodborne has long been surpassed by its successors."

jznrpg42d ago (Edited 42d ago )

Yes, yes it does. It’s still a great game. Elden Ring isn’t better just different and a bit easier . I like that you have to be aggressive but smart in Bloodborne

thorstein42d ago

I literally replayed it recently and it's better than I remember. I think it's like going back to a beloved book and noticing things I hadn't before.

raWfodog42d ago (Edited 42d ago )

Yo! I was getting ready to reply with the exact same four words you started with lol. Yes, I think Bloodborne has withstood the test of time and remains a great game. That’s why all the fans are hoping for a sequel someday. Hoping that we can catch that magic again with a new storyline.

Leeroyw42d ago

Yes. Just replayed it a few days ago. My first Platinum. And yes. I rage quitted so many times and called it BS too when I started. It's tight. The combat is amazing and the lore is rich.

GamingSinceForever41d ago

Elden Ring was easier? I don’t know about that at all. I remember leveling up in Bloodborne and breezing through it. In Elden Ring no matter how powerful I got I was still catching a beat down from every boss.

thorstein41d ago

That's due to scaling enemies. I remember not doing Haligtree untill near the end and having enemies withstand almost a full blast from Azur's Glintstone Staff Comet Azure. My level was quite high.

Melee characters are not fun in that game, especially for the Elden Beast.

MeteorPanda42d ago

Considering l did a run 2 months ago? Yes.
