Resident Evil Revelations is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

Resident Evil Revelations is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One physical and digital (NA and EU) Fall 2017! More information coming soon.

andrewsquall2603d ago

Damn and they were doing so well with RE7. But I guess they need to keep the Capcom RE flow in check. Release garbage like Umbrella Corps then follow it up with a critically acclaimed game, then follow it up with more RE crap.
Hopefully this means RE 2 REmake will be excellent then. :)

MetroidFREAK212603d ago

RE Revelations is actually pretty good. Played it on the 3DS, and Wii U.

_-EDMIX-_2603d ago

Agreed. I played it on PS3. I own a 3DS, but got it on sale for PS3 instead as I didn't want to play it on 3DS.

That game is MOST GOOD! Cool to see them putting a lot of the RE titles on current platforms.

I mean...not really shocked though, they put RE1-CV on PSN on PS3 last gen so they are not really new to the ports.

PurpHerbison2603d ago

Is Revelations the game that was ALMOST good but it forced you to have an Ai partner?

bluefox7552603d ago

It's pretty good, it's a lot like the classic RE games, less action and more methodical resource management and strategy.

Blu3_Berry2603d ago

I thought RE Revelation 1 was pretty good compared to 5, 6, and Revelations 2. It had a consistent atmosphere without Michael bay around every corner.

StormLegend2603d ago

This is one of the best RE games. Especially on the 3DS because of 3D.

MasterCornholio2603d ago

Only game on the 3DS that allows you to enable ultra 3D mode.

:)

Venoxn4g2603d ago

Revelation is best RE title since 4th.. (if not counting 7) :)

ps360s2603d ago (Edited 2603d ago )

RE Revelations is a good game same as 2

I really enjoyed the revelations series

I got it for the 3DS(Revelations 1) , PC(both), PS4 (Revelations 2)

ocelot072603d ago

From what I played of it on PC and 3DS this was decent.

Deep-throat2603d ago

Easily the worst out of the main series.

ocelot072603d ago (Edited 2603d ago )

Main series is Resident Evil 1-7. Any other RE titles are spin offs. Worst of the main series is probably 6 followed by 5 and 4.

StormLegend2603d ago

The milking continues! the game is one of the best, but it's been on 3DS, Wii U, PS3, X360 and now PS4 and Xbox1

_-EDMIX-_2603d ago

Lol

I'm not purchasing this version but please people can you please stop narrow-mindedly assuming that everybody on those platforms got a chance to play that game when it originally released, there is a market for this.

Consider on PlayStation 3 Capcom re-released Resident Evil 1 2 3 code Veronica...

Could you not say people already played those on Playstation 1 or 2?

And if they did? That's nice

the reality is there still going to be a market of Gamers that did not play it , thus it's always going to have a market to be brought back so they could sell over again.

This is not hurting consumers cuz you simply have the choice of not purchasing it, just like I'm not even purchasing this because I own the PlayStation 3 version but if by any chance I did not own the PlayStation 3 version this might prompt me to purchase it if only to get more insight on Revelations 2.

There are many gamers that may not want to go back to play it but might reconsider purchasing it if it has been enhanced or put on a platform of their choosing what have you.

That is a very clear an open opportunity to make more money as to why Ports and remasters exist in the first place

The company makes money

consumers we didn't get to play it get a chance

Who is losing over this?

Fishy Fingers2603d ago

Wonder if they plan to jazz it up for the current gen? I assume it's already backwards compatible on XB.

Darkwatchman2603d ago

Most likely will be basic, but decent enough if you never played the game or only played the 3ds version. Probably will be nothing more than a jump from native 720p to 1080p for the ps4 and Xbox one and then the ps4 pro will more than likely be native 4K unless Capcom gets really lazy and has no pro support for it or doesn't want to put in any extra effort and this last gen remaster of a 3ds game somehow runs below native 4K on the pro. Which when we have games like FIFA and NBA 2k17 hitting native 4K on the pro and the last of us remaster hitting native 4K in 30fps mode, this remaster of a 3ds game damn well better be capable of a full 4K.

XbladeTeddy2603d ago

It's a cash-in on the hype Resi 7 made. It was made for the 3DS and you can see it was even in the ports. Why keep doing this lazy porting crap of such an old game!

_-EDMIX-_2603d ago

They were making ports before Resident Evil 7.......

Soooo yea.

Because money, that's why! Lol

I'm not entirely sure what else you would need to know are you seriously telling me you're unaware that companies produce games to make money? There is no other reason but this exist other than to make money but that could be said about most games in existence

If there's a market of consumers that did not play this which they're definitely likely is, they're going to make it especially if it's going to help fund Resident Evil 2, 8 along with their other projects

XbladeTeddy2603d ago (Edited 2603d ago )

I know companies make money but why keep porting the same thing over and over?

It's cool though if you don't understand. Enjoy paying £39.99 for an old portable game.

_-EDMIX-_2603d ago (Edited 2603d ago )

@Xblad- I'm not buying it.....

"I know companies make money but why keep porting the same thing over and over? " LMFAO!

You just answered your own question bud.

Its to keep making money. That is like asking why re-release Titanic in 4K....

Its sounds like it you who dosen't really understand. No one is saying to buy this, simply that someone will based on not likely owning the previous.

"an old portable game"

Yes...a portable someone might not own. So never make that money back?

That is like saying "an old VHS movie" lol yes......a system and format someone might no longer own....

Don't look to rationalize it in a personal way bud, its business. It is not meant to be understood the way you are actually trying to understand it.

Its beyond dumb.

Do you ask McDonald why they sold someone else a Big Mac after they just sold you one? You legit not getting that them selling it to someone else is irrelevant to you?

smh.

When did it get this bad, that SOMEONE ELSE buying a old game became a problem?

This is likely being done by a small port team, not interfearing with any major title and likely even FUNDING a title.

Resident Evil Zero is a great example. It released on Gamecube and sold poorly, re-release gave many users a chance to play it.

Who is being hurt by that?

MOST users I find don't even understand the base concept enough of business to get that...yes, making money is part of it, they kinda need to do that if they see they can.

Did you die bcuase someone else played this?

I played FFV on my PS1, never owned the original. Played Revelations 1 on PS3, never owned the original. The first time I played Link To The Past was on GBA....

Sooooooooo buddy, no one is dying by a port, you or many users on here don't even have REAL logical reasons on why this would be bad for anyone.

Simply "its cool" or "Enjoy paying" etc....

At least, just once.....please....TRY to understand how someone might have not owned a 3DS or might not own a PS3 or might not even want that version as suppose to this version instead. If they never played it, why play a lessor version? You know of ANY install base that played 100% of ALL GAMES? Games right now might slip through the cracks, I know many great games this gen that I didn't buy yet or don't have the time. If PS5 comes out and has a remaster of Doom or FFXV or RE7 etc or any title someone might have not played last gen, why get the lessor version of a title you never played? Put yourself in their shoes please, I've found that only the most ignorant don't understand this.

Ignorance smh

Steam Uproar as Capcom Slips In Restrictive DRM Software

From Xfire: "Steam users and the larger PC gaming community are lashing out at Capcom over a streak of sneaky DRM updates as the Japanese gaming giant continues to flirt with controversy"

LordoftheCritics93d ago

RIP

Capcom turning into Ubisoft.

Well success can have that effect.

just_looken92d ago

Yep this shows how bad a digital world is now well for the old titles new games disc or not the drm is there but you can get the old games on dvd then try to monkey the last pre drm update onto the game files.

I love GOG for this reason i saw that skyrim bs update so i know not to run that version as gog you can select what patch to download/install with capcom hopefully we get a list of the update numbers that add this horrific drm.

With denuvo as a alder lake pc user it still has issues with E cores and i remember when the servers were taken offline forcing hundreds of games to be paperweights.

FinalFantasyFanatic92d ago

It's also really annoying how they can cut or change content later, like the Skull Girls controversy, a decade later after the game came out, they decide to censor it. The game is a decade old, if it's not broken, leave it, adding DRM back into older games is BS.

just_looken92d ago

@final

Good point even major sp games got the cut after the fact be it last of us with maps/art or gta 5 removing stuff in the world.

Cyberpunk ps4 day one disc copy the sept build still has stuff the other versions no longer have.

With the gta 6 controversy right now i think back to the days of saints row creating a character beating up cops with a dildo bat and now we have elon crying over gta 6 guns killing cops i bet you if they made saints row 2 hd they would half to cut half the games content or go to jail lol also sad.

Was watching avatar last airbender 13yr old ang kissing katar again can not have that in a kids show or game now.

PRIMORDUS92d ago (Edited 92d ago )

Do they want more of their games to be torrented? Seems like it, I don't mind 🤣 Just ripped them a new asshole on Twitter, as I do not care what I say or post on there LOL.

banger8892d ago

Let me guess, you have a vpn enabled. For your sake I hope it's not in any 5 Eyes territories.

PRIMORDUS92d ago

I have ExpressVPN but on Twitter I don't use it lol. For other things I use it :D

Barlos92d ago

Nice. I got a lifetime ban on Twitter back in 2020 for speaking my mind. Don't care tbh, I'm not really into social media. I don't even have a Facebook account.

PRIMORDUS91d ago

I'm still trying to get banned to lol I'll keep at it 🤣 I have FB but maybe log in once a month but yeah always speak your mind no matter how bad the words come out, do not hold back online or IRL. Fuck them shit bags lol.

got_dam92d ago

This is classic Capcom. They everything they go on a hot streak and win back some consumer good will they have to turn around and burn it to the ground and have to start the whole process again.

Chocoburger92d ago (Edited 92d ago )

Additional DRM just pushes people to pirate more. These ignorant executives just don't get it. Only the legitimate customer is affected by DRM. 😕

Darkegg92d ago

Drm punishes legit customers and encourage hackers. It’s the wrong way to go about it.

It's Time For Resident Evil's Most Unique Mode to Make a Comeback

With series staple Mercenaries Mode returning to the Resident Evil 4 Remake, it’s time to remind fans of another mostly forgotten mode from the RE series. Reaching the second chapter in the 2012 3DS game Resident Evil: Revelations unlocked something called Raid Mode for players to enjoy. Unlike Mercenaries, Raid Mode is not a time-attack mode and instead operates as a more RPG-lite version of the main game. While players are expected to try and hammer down on a handful of levels in Mercenaries, Raid Mode gives players a much more expansive game type to play around with.

This mode was included in ports released on the seventh and eighth generations of consoles and was part of Resident Evil: Revelations 2, which was released in 2015. However, the Revelations duology is the only time that Raid Mode has existed in the massive Resident Evil franchise, and that should change in some future release.

I'd like to raid mode make a return in the future. When Capcom was hacked there was a as of yet announced RE game in there that I was hoping might turn into Revelations 3. There were also reports that whatever that RE game was scrapped and cancelled.
