Damn and they were doing so well with RE7. But I guess they need to keep the Capcom RE flow in check. Release garbage like Umbrella Corps then follow it up with a critically acclaimed game, then follow it up with more RE crap.
Hopefully this means RE 2 REmake will be excellent then. :)

Agreed. I played it on PS3. I own a 3DS, but got it on sale for PS3 instead as I didn't want to play it on 3DS.

That game is MOST GOOD! Cool to see them putting a lot of the RE titles on current platforms.

I mean...not really shocked though, they put RE1-CV on PSN on PS3 last gen so they are not really new to the ports.

It's pretty good, it's a lot like the classic RE games, less action and more methodical resource management and strategy.

I thought RE Revelation 1 was pretty good compared to 5, 6, and Revelations 2. It had a consistent atmosphere without Michael bay around every corner.

I'm not purchasing this version but please people can you please stop narrow-mindedly assuming that everybody on those platforms got a chance to play that game when it originally released, there is a market for this.

the reality is there still going to be a market of Gamers that did not play it , thus it's always going to have a market to be brought back so they could sell over again.

This is not hurting consumers cuz you simply have the choice of not purchasing it, just like I'm not even purchasing this because I own the PlayStation 3 version but if by any chance I did not own the PlayStation 3 version this might prompt me to purchase it if only to get more insight on Revelations 2.

There are many gamers that may not want to go back to play it but might reconsider purchasing it if it has been enhanced or put on a platform of their choosing what have you.

That is a very clear an open opportunity to make more money as to why Ports and remasters exist in the first place

Most likely will be basic, but decent enough if you never played the game or only played the 3ds version. Probably will be nothing more than a jump from native 720p to 1080p for the ps4 and Xbox one and then the ps4 pro will more than likely be native 4K unless Capcom gets really lazy and has no pro support for it or doesn't want to put in any extra effort and this last gen remaster of a 3ds game somehow runs below native 4K on the pro. Which when we have games like FIFA and NBA 2k17 hitting native 4K on the pro and the last of us remaster hitting native 4K in 30fps mode, this remaster of a 3ds game damn well better be capable of a full 4K.

This is likely being done by a small port team, not interfearing with any major title and likely even FUNDING a title.

Resident Evil Zero is a great example. It released on Gamecube and sold poorly, re-release gave many users a chance to play it.

Who is being hurt by that?

MOST users I find don't even understand the base concept enough of business to get that...yes, making money is part of it, they kinda need to do that if they see they can.

I played FFV on my PS1, never owned the original. Played Revelations 1 on PS3, never owned the original. The first time I played Link To The Past was on GBA....

At least, just once.....please....TRY to understand how someone might have not owned a 3DS or might not own a PS3 or might not even want that version as suppose to this version instead. If they never played it, why play a lessor version? You know of ANY install base that played 100% of ALL GAMES? Games right now might slip through the cracks, I know many great games this gen that I didn't buy yet or don't have the time. If PS5 comes out and has a remaster of Doom or FFXV or RE7 etc or any title someone might have not played last gen, why get the lessor version of a title you never played? Revelations was, eh, ok. I thought overall Revelations 2 was better. Hoping for Outbreak File 1 and 2 HD Remaster.
Mostly though waiting for the unveiling of REmake 2!

This ia actually my favorite Resident Evil game but I already played it on PS3 and 3DS so not gonna buy it again... But people who have not tried it should check it out. It's worth it for the Raid Mode alone

In order for you to get Resident Evil 7 they had to release remaster of zero as well as 2002.

In order for you to get 5 and 6 they still ended up porting Resident Evil 1 through code Veronica on PlayStation Network..

I don't know if you realize this but that "recycling" is what is giving them the funding to recreate stuff like Resident Evil 2 and quite possibly Resident Evil 8.

What is it doing to you that it's really saying? This is not hurting any development team because porting is not the same thing as creating different teams actually handle those issues they're called porting teams or transfer teams.

Their sole job is to transfer a game over to another platform.

Considered tequila games is actually not making Rime for the switch they hired a transfer team to actually do that

the more you educate yourself on the industry the more you'll actually know this is not an either-or situation, there actually is no benefit to you for this game to not release

If anything I would argue the last ports they release means the less money they earn which actually means the longer it would take for them to create games in the first place.

Are you actually need to do is take a small history lesson on how this company has operated and you'll realize that lots of the sequels you're getting from this company or because of some of the money they earned from ports.

If you glance over on PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3 you'll realize the majority of the Resident Evil series is on PlayStation Network

So what is it benefiting you that they don't make money selling those games?

The entire team of Resident Evil 7 is not being held back creating ports that's not how any of this works.

That is an example of a port team or a transition team their job is to Simply transfer a game to another system unless that is you believe that these are the creators of Street Fighter....

Another example of a team that just sports games their job is simply to bring games to other platforms they don't make games the transition them to other systems....

So no Uncharted 4 did not get delayed because of the Uncharted collection because it's irrelevant to ND, bluepoint games is the one that made that Port not naughty dog.

That's like assuming the entire final fantasy team worked on Final Fantasy 10 remaster....

Some of these transition teams are made up of about less than 10 people.

Put it this way it's not what you think lots of Gamers for whatever reason assume that when they see a port that the entire team 100% is making the game a second time that's actually not the case they're not remotely the same thing.

Think about when something like Titanic is being restored in 4k do you just assume that the entire cast in the entire set all go back and redo every single last scene?

This is the confusion I find that many gamers have with the process they literally assume that it is taking years or the whole team is doing the game a second time and reality that is absolutely far from the truth.

Some ports can be done in up and running in literally weeks ..

I mean using some ignorant Gamers logic bluepoint games should be doing the Uncharted series if you believe that they made 3 Uncharted games in a fraction of the time it took naughty dog to create one.

So in regards to Source.... the entire industry is my source buddy , a lot of these transition teams can be cited to many different projects to prove that it very much is a thing.
