Nintendo Announces Mario Kart Switch Details

Nintendo has revealed details of how Mario Kart will play on the Switch. It's an impressive looking list of features.

I don't see a problem with those, so I don't see a problem with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Nobody is forcing people to re-buy those games, and if they do, more power to them.

They can port the entire Wii U library to the Switch for all I care, as long as they also make lots of new games as well. Considering the Wii U's abysmal sales, there's still a lot of people for whom these games would still be brand new for all intents and purposes.

Mario Kart is like Zelda , Smash etc. In a league of its own.it might not be as realistic as GTsport, but it's just so much more fun. This is why Nintendo is King 💪💪💪

Never played a Zelda (I know, the shame!) but Smash and MC games are just fantastic fun with friends and everyone is happy to join in.

I absolutely love me some forza, but Its not as fun as Mario kart. I play Forza Manual with clutch with a £200 steering wheel so I'm pretty serious about It !!!! Mario kart will make you laugh and smile and angry lol forza just makes me angry!

He's not comparing them, rather just using it as an example. Point being that there is scope within a genre for games to fill different needs/occasions and while equally enjoyable, they can suit different situations.

Like your example, NBA Jam can be more enjoyable than 2K in the right situation and vice versa. It's not saying one is better than the other.

I played Mario Kart 8 to death on the Wii U. I'm pretty burnt out on the game. I just played it one more time today as I was checking battery life on one of the remotes. I gave the remote to my daughter to finish the races. I would love to see Diddy Kong Racing or Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed 2 on the Switch in the near future. I don't think Switch owners want old Wii U game remastered for the Switch.

Should have been available as a lunch bundle, IMO. Although Deluxe is a re-release, Mario Kart 8 was a huge step forwards for the series and the addition of battle mode and more characters fix the two problems with the first release (Koopalings making up such a huge chunk of the roster and no battle mode.) To anyone who doesn't own Mario Kart 8 on Wii U, or doesn't own the DLC, the deluxe version is a must buy. Having the game available as part of a bundle at launch would draw a lot more interest in the game to people who never played it on Wii U.

I guess it makes sense. I don't think Mario Kart would really wreck Zelda's sales though because people would be looking for something new to play over the next month or two. You're probably right though, end of March would have been for the best. That way people would pick up Zelda on launch day and Mario kart as soon as it hit a few weeks later.

Even if I had played the Wii U version to death, I still would be buying the Switch version... Mario Kart is amazingly fun. Granted I have played the Wii U version, (not to death though) so I know what to expect from the port, the additions should be fun. Battlemode looks great! Cannot wait to race my friends online as well! :)

People paid full price for GTAV, Tomb Raider, and Last of Us after 1 year of release. What were the incentives to buy those again?

It's still a repacking of a previous gen game. Making it 60fps with a lil visual improvement doesn't make it a new game lol

It's exactly the same. The PS4 and Xbox One were filled with ports and remasters the first year, and people didn't give then anywhere close to the amount of shit they're giving Nintendo now, and this isn't the first time this happens.

People also gave Nintendo endless shit for the ports at launch of 3DS and Wii U, but not for Vita / Xbox One / PS4.

Like you said, it's just because Nintendo. And the double standards and toxicity at display on this website is absurd. Go to any other gaming site, and you will see that the hate and negativity against the Switch is almost exclusive to N4G.

* 8 Battlemodes is nice. I was concerned with only 4 but there being 8 helps a lot. Also that new mode looks like a lot of fun so I can't wait to try this out.
