Horizon Zero Dawn's Producer Talks About a Sequel

Games like HZD are huge projects. From the initial concepts to release, Guerilla has had a team working on this game for six years. At the end of such a long development the team is in a position to look at what they’ve created, and what more they might want to do with it. But does someone like Sharma even want to make a sequel, to dive straight back in? Not every game has to be a grand franchise.

Nonsense. Aloy is an absolute badass. She'd give Oliver Queen a run for his money. 5 years on an island. What about raised from 6 in a post apocalyptic world beset by dangerous machines.

She has some very dry wit as well. Made me laugh a few times. And I like the way she uses her prior badassery to scare people.

You may not like her or think much of her but that is your perception and you are entitled to it. Based on your remark history I think there are motivations behind it. And just for your own personal knowledge, owning multiple consoles does not make you any more of a "real gamer" than owning a bat makes you a professional baseball player.

As I stated elsewhere, Aloy is confident without being cocky. Bold without being foolhardy. Inquisitive without being careless. She has regret and humor. Steadfastness and caution. Respectful yet firm. She is a person of grit. Most of all she is human.

Despite how she was treated early in life the lessons Rost taught her took hold. She can be forgiving yet at the same time she knows the land serves its own justice. The central lesson Rost taught her, she does not need the tribe but the tribe needs her, plays out as you move through the game. She feels the needs of the tribe yet at the same time she has insights that she may not truly be of them. She feels the empty space in her brought on by the mystery of her origin and it drives her without doing so at the expense of others. She can serve the tribe, lead them, be respected by them, feared by others, yet she is in some ways quite alone. Particularly so after the events of The Proving.

She is a rounded character and Guerrilla does not lean on her femininity in order to shortcut her character development. In the end you have to play her to understand why she feels so much more fully fleshed out in her first game versus many protagonists in other titles.

The only thing I don't like about Aloy is the voice actress. I didn't care for her much in Life is Strange, either. She's a bit too uneven in her performance, and the voice doesn't match this particular character very well, either. That's personal opinion, of course, and my opinion doesn't matter much at this point.

This game has franchise written all over. Im sure there is a note book somewhere already with ideas written down.

But take a break guys. Have a rest, recharge. Go to some of those cafes you have over there.

When youre all energized again and ready to be creative start mapping out Horizon 2. I actually think they should work on 2 games and just start with the planning. They shouldnt rush a new one out the door in 2 years just to cash in like others would do. Take your time. I would like to see it as a PS4 Swan song or even cross gen PS4/PS5 title.

When Sony was already copywriting specific merchandise we already knew they were already preparing this to be a series years ago.

They have been prepping for this to be something they do long-term and they did a great job with its execution its story sounds like it was created to be something added upon.

Because Sony is primarily a software company in regards to making their money from software as opposed to soley Hardware I believe it's actually more likely you will not see Horizon zero Dawn 2 be a cross-generational game in regards to launching but I do believe iif it releases on PlayStation 4 will simply get remastered over to PlayStation 5.

I don't think so he wants the acknowledgement of the game existing on PlayStation 5 rifling the actual sales of the PlayStation 4 version because of holdouts.

You'll notice that most software companies actually do this even with knowing that another version exist if not openly stated so that way they're not hurt with initial software sales.

Don't get me wrong that would be pretty badass to have Horizion zero Dawn 2 as a launch title for PlayStation 5 but knowing Sony Computer Entertainment that is extremely unlikely because they are looking to bank on software and they're not going to hold back that version on another platform they're more likely to just release it on PlayStation 4 and then wait on PlayStation 5.

The way the game ended says a lot of is to come, not only that this game is primed for a prequel or sequel. Its just too much lore and material they can take this anyway they want it screams "more Horizon to come" I will welcome it when the time comes.

It's one of my favorite open World Games in regards to the layout of the world and how they've designed the characters in concept.

Now I cannot say 100% the best, but I could definitely say personally it is my favorite.

The pacing in this game in regards to it story and how they have you fight enemies it's something that is just severely over looked.

Something is just exhilarating about hunting to get food to make potion, crafting when I need objects, continuing the hunt successfully defeating the enemy harvesting its insides for other crafting material and then continuing on the journey.

For me it hits the entire Trifecta of some of my favorite things to do in RPGs there is an absolutely amazing metagame that goes to the players mind when preparing for a battle and that goes in

collecting material for health and for other weaponry, stalking your enemy ,finally killing the actual enemy based on its weakness and then continuing on the journey and then repeat.

I had a ball fighting human enemies last night with the shock ammo for the Rattler. I then started using the tearblast to knock them down. I am level 41 and still finding a myriad of ways to utilise the weaponry in this game. It's remarkable.

Just started playing tonight in between Zelda both games are incredible, horizon has some game engine unbelievable. Can see why kojima chose this for death stranding.
