8$ for tiny 16 bit games from 30 years ago? Seems like a ripoff as usual from Nintendo.

$8 is far from a ripoff. Nintendo isn't grabbing roms from a website and selling them. Playmore and Hamster get a cut as well. Also server fees, maintenance, and upkeep play their parts in the overall price.

$8 is very fair, especially when the cheapest game of the bunch sells for well over $100 on the AES, with most being had for hundreds more. That said, it's pretty silly to complain that these are being offered for the price of a greasy fast food dinner.

Yes, I subscribe to the radical idea that a company should indeed be able to profit off of their IP. I'm a downright extremist.

As for taking it in the ass, I own all of the carts already and play them frequently. I'm glad SNK can make some more money off of them and share some of the best games of the 16-bit era with a wider audience. KoF XIV was sublime, and if these proceeds help with the development of another SNK property seeing a finely-tuned release, I'm all for it.

This is the type of software support I may have expected sometime back in the 80s or early 90s. When gaming was pretty much in its infancy. To launch with this support today? Is nothing short of cosmically pathetic.
