Let's face the facts: there are quite a few card-based RPGs and strategy games out there in videogame land. With so many to choose from, it's hard to narrow in on ones that offer real promise, but Neverland Card Battles hopes to make a name for itself in the US market -- despite the heavy competition. A reworked "port" of Cardinal Arc: Neverland Card War for the PS2 (a title that never saw a release in the US), Neverland Card Battles is heading to the PSP in October to bring card-based strategy to Sony's portable.

This hybrid between the T-RPG and Card Game fate at a reduced price for the occasion, and at the same time as the Japanese version, thanks to the emerging society of Yuke's Company of America. Neverland Card Battles is up to the expectations, or is it a game without interest?

This phrase stayed with me while I was playing NeverLand Card Battles. The game itself is a blend of a collectable card games such as Pokemon or Magic the Gathering and a tactical role-playing game such as Final Fantasy Tactics."

While this title has all the basic fundamentals of a decent card-based tactical RPG (large battlegrounds, complex combat rules, and so on), they actually make one really terrible game when they're all put together. With a bland story, bad voice acting, and one of the most annoying tactical systems I've seen in an RPG, I can't recommended this game for anyone but fans of this niche series."
