Ghost Recon: Wildlands Review | Gamereactor

GR writes: "There are only a handful of big-budget open-world games with campaign co-op as good as this, so there are surely many players out there who aren't too upset by this game's unwillingness to take risks. With For Honor, Ubisoft showed the ability to innovate with a big budget. Wildlands, on the other hand, is content that walks along the beaten path."

the beta was very lackluster and convinced me not to buy... not surprised

Not surprised at what? A 7? Most reviews have been 8s and 9s. 7 isn't even a bad score. The fun comes with playing with your buddies. Even solo is fun.

If it's just not your type of game cool, but to pass judgement on a game based on a beta is unfair.

Based on the beta I would've gave it a 6 or 7. Based on the actual full game, most bugs and issues worked out, pvp coming and season pass dlc looks promising, an 8 or 9 is pretty accurate.

For me all the problems with the game in my beta experience seemed nothing that would be beta related. Bugs and optimisation issues are things to be expected in betas, lackluster sound (cars drive seem to be driving at 500 rpm at all times, don't seem to need shift), horrible driving (throttle seems to be instant, feeling of speed is completely absent, making you drive extremely fast without even realising it, mainly due to sound), AI walking in the way, not being able to co-ordinate AI separately, horrible helicopter controls, uninspired voice acting and dialogues between characters... all these things seem to make it to the full game as well.
Giving a game a 7 then seems fair, and no it's not a bad score. But it's 70% of what you would have liked out of a game. So, really, it's not too great for something if you expect to pay 100% (+DLC, making the 70% value for money drop even more). That's how I look at it at least.

That said, I think the game was quite fun in the stealth aspects, and could be a fun way to spend time with friends, but like Watchdogs 1 and 2, I find it sad that the pisspoor sound development seems to be neglected in a lot of reviews.

This game surprised me it's a blast with friends I'm glad I bought it. The open world of Bolivia is beautiful but horizon spoiled me to where the game as a whole looks like butt and after how smooth aloy controlled the characters in this feel so stiff and unresponsive. Those are just minor things though and it's awesome when your friend is flying a helicopter and you skydive out while the other two approach by vehicle on a village full of enemies and start lighting the place up than your helicopter friend circles back around, aims the helicopter like it's a missle at the village and skydives out to join up with you than you all watch the helicopter slam into the village blowing up enemies it's just awesome

Well that's what I am enjoying about this ghost. It allow for you to personalize your experience. There is no right or wrong way to accomplish your goals. When I feel comfortable with all aspects of the game, we are going the try playing with out the drones.

Co op makes this game so much more fun, its crazy.

Felt like a more accessible (dumbed down) ARMA to me with improved gunplay which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Wasn't bowled over to be honest but I can see this being worthwhile if you have the friends to play with. Will be a sale purchase if at all for me.

Good 7/8 of 10 based on my beta time.

I just really didn't like the clunky control on beta. The beta really put me off to buy this game. Shame.

Gamepass has changed everything. Phil, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for Gamepass. I just bought 50 years worth of subscription and I'm so happy.

Riiight! Thanks to GP I've discovered hundreds of indie fillers I would've never known about otherwise. Best part: team Xbox has discovered how great walking sims and interactive movies really are! And EA Play? Love me some 4 year old sports games!! Why sub up though? Just let MS auto renew that incredible $14.99 a month value. It's so easy!!

Gamepass is just so amazing. Adding EA play to it brought the service to a whole nother level. Phil Spencer has the brightest mind in gaming. By far.....
