Its a mobile device with a fancy docking system. Its been 6 years since 3ds. Don't get confused and think this is a home console despite Nintendo's marketing. Hopefully it consolidates the Nintendo games to one system, but Nintendo tends to make bad decisions so I wouldn't be surprised for a more powerful home console released in a few years with a stupid name.

Huh? Where'd you hear that? I've played Zelda all day, and then my brother played all night. The Switch was still at 100℅ when I took it out of the dock after he was done playing.

I saw it in a number of reviews, and IGN mentioned it in one of their podcasts. The problem was that the Switch was draining power and never fully recharging even while sitting on the dock. It wouldn't go below 85% but kind of annoying. Maybe it doesn't happen to everyone, like the joycon sync issue.

Well, I assure you I wasn't making it up. It was listed in Kotaku's review of the switch:

However, they have since gone back and updated it saying the day one patch apparently fixed it. So I wasn't making it up. It wasn't bull. Calm down potato chip.

Well, I don't like it that my PS4 is known to spit discs out mid-game or when powered off, but I think I now understand the cause and have a fairly unintrusive work around.

It's perfectly reasonable to be unhappy with features of something you bought or were interesred in.

Unfortunately for Nintendo (and its dedicated fans), the entire Switch rollout has been a disaster. They clearly bungled the design of the Switch, then failed to properly product test the system to iron out bugs. And they (once again) cut corners everywhere possible, in order to maximize profits and minimize costs (cheap plastic screen, poorly designed joycons that lose connections, badly placed charging port, poorly placed kickstand, cheap plastic dock that scratches the screen, etc.)

Unless they make a dedicated effort to fix all these issues, the Switch is destined to fail in the near future.

I'm most prob older than you lol I'm just saying there ain't many and the hard hitters of ps4 that I have played aren't great such as last gaurdian, TLOU, infamous, uncharted (although 2 is amazing!) Killzone, knack and so on even HZD I've played and it very good but nothing to shout home about lol ... I love my Nintendo stuff it all so different and it like me hence I love it, I am not hating or wanting to cause it just saying my opinion :) I love the old PlayStation where had Croc gone? Lol ... I didn't see anything listed here about the dock specifically being poorly made, I read some articles and saw a few videos on line where people were saying the dock is basically an empty cheep plastic box that's poorly made and was scratching the face of their system.

This is such a bullshit article:

1) The launch games don't suck, they just aren't to your taste. Personally I love the launch games. Zelda is AMAZING! Snipperclips is super fun. 1-2 Switch is a great party game. Just Dance has always been a favourite of mine and my partners.

2) How short are your headphones? Plus, why would you be over 2 foot away from a 6.2 inch screen anyway?

3) Kickstand is an added bonus. And hasn't broken on anyone yet. It snaps off and on easily, without any signs of damage

4) Not had a problem with them, however they are quite small

5) So it's Nintendo's fault you forget the dock? Stupid...

6) 1st world problem! It's fine. Plus, what house hold doesn't own 3,028,923 HDMi cables anyway...

7) How else do you expect the dock to charge the console when docked? Can't do it from the sides or the top...

8) No words for this one, except... laziness.

10) I spent £330. Console + Zelda. Partner spent £90 on 1-2 Switch, Just Dance, and Snipperclips. $420 in total. None of the other accessories, except maybe a second dock for convenience, are necessary.
