It's that time of year again. Yep, the big release season is upon us, which means we'll be buried in games faster than our wallets can refill themselves. Time to take advantage of those credit card offers we keep getting in the mail...
From Resistance 2 to LittleBigPlanet to SOCOM: Confrontation to MotorStorm: Pacific Rift to Fallout 3 and much, much more, there's a major release that will interest pretty much anyone with a pulse. But with so many games to choose from, what should you be keeping an eye out for?
That's where we come in. What you'll find here are the biggest of the big, the best of the best (from what we've seen at least) to hit stores shelves over the next few months.
Backward compatibility works for many games on newer consoles, but titles such as The Simpsons: Hit and Run have been left out.
From base building to swinging willies, here are the best survival games around, which include a couple of less than obvious picks.
It turns out that many moons ago, Microsoft once had its eye on the Sony published LittleBigPlanet series.
Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.
They're scum.
"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."
Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.
Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.
But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?
Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.
now Sony just needs to market the hell out the games, and make lots and lots of ads.
And of course launch home at same time and market it to mass public.
Bioshock for PS3. I'm most hyped about the exclusives since I'm a pure fanboy.
Resistance 2
Motorstorm: Pacific Rift
Valkyria Chronicles
maybe Little Big Planet.
Multi games have to be really good for me to want. I'm kind of eyeing Fallout 3.
EDIT: People get me wrong. I'M A PS3 FANBOY!! ALWAYS WILL BE!!! I'M NOT HAPPY WITHOUT PS3!!
But I'm kind of like John McCain, I'm a maverick. I go against my own party if I feel they are F*cking up! I get on PS3's case often, because they are F*cken idiots.
I'm gonna be so damn poor this holiday. And the start of 2009 looks just as hard on my wallet.
This is a great thing, don't get me wrong, it's nice to know i'll have a constant stream of kick ass games to play for the rest of this year and 2009.
Maybe I should get a second job? lol
too many cool games.. geez.. there were about 10 games i wanted on that list.
time to do some overtime *sigh*
