I can totally imagine of a lot of reasons someone might find stuff like this a bit cringy. Like, shared living room with significant other, A weird christian or other religious upbringing. Having kids or others who might walk in any moment.

My wife would probs think it was funny, but not everyone would. I wouldn't play these scenes in front of my young daughter.. and I would be slightly be wondering what I'm doing with my time. XD

well, I am a woman and in my experience, a lot of people especially the newer generation are just prudes. There is to much protection, no backbone and very thin skin. Way to quick offended, and my vagina is more dangerous then a handgun..

Ok, but why would you play this game in front of your "young daughter" to begin with if you're that protective. Yakuza 0 is a mature rated game, that contains a lot of things that could be considered inappropriate for children, like violence for example. If you check the back of the game, it clearly states "Content is generally suitable for ages 17 and up. May contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language."

So I ask you, why would you play this game in front of your child to begin with? If you know the content of the game is for M17+, maybe you should take responsability for the fact that it is up to you to make sure you play it at the appropriate time. If you can't take that responsability yourself, maybe you should simply avoid these games. It is not up to developers to censur these things out of their game, they have done their part (created the game/vision), the game is rated for everyone to see clearly on the box, they have done their part. The rest of the responsability is up to the consumer. It baffles me that this is a concept people still habe trouble grasping.

I didn't say I *would* play this in front of a kid if it wasn't for those scenes. So this whole "why would you anyway" scenario is moot. :) That wasn't a core point I was making it was just a throwaway thought. (it was a dumb thought to mention apparently, considering the tangent it's led to, sorry about that haha.)

Saying that, there are large chunks of many games that are rated higher than her age that I'd happily let her see.. a rating saying a kid can't see the entirety of a 20-40hr game *can* be pretty weird, and like most parents I use my own judgement.

The point was, people with different family situations, upbringings, etc understandably find different things cringy.

I wouldn't play any part of Yakuza in front of my young daughter....if I had one. But I were trying to keep them from questionable content, the sexual content would be the least of my concerns in regards to this game.

It's pretty much the same as saying that you don't let your kid play GTA because it has hookers, but you have no problem with the fact you can beat the crap out of anyone..

Do you really think that the occasional provocative scene is so damaging compared to the rampant violence that exists within the game itself? Violence is much more prolific in media than sex, and the scenes from Yakuza were more silly than provocative..

lol I got a lot of flak for that but there are a lot of games I'd play in the same room as my daughter because I know she outright ignores the screen/whatever's going on in regards to certain things.

I.e. I can play most of bloodborne in front of her. Most of the violence in yakuza is pretty slapstick and ridiculous too, I have no probs with her playing Soul Calibur etc.

That wasn't an insult to the game. Just pointing out people with children in the house (not even in the same room, the first time I mentioned kids I specifically said "could walk in") ! May find things cringier than others.

And I said nothing about how damaging it might be? Wtf is with people extrapolating everything. :) tbh though - if we're getting into that - no, having her see some bulky dudes wrestle / fight unrealistically is definitely going to be less problematic, and need less explaining than having her dad ogling women like that as gameplay. It's NOT the content of the game, I love that stuff like this exists! it's the context in certain situations - it's not for everyone. Hence some people (based on upbringing, surroundings and family situation.) finding it more "icky" than others.
