Speaking to VideoGamer.com during a presentation of the game at Leipzig Games Convention last month, senior lead designer Kevin O'Hara said that Sony was aware that most shooter fans "aren't used" to a $15 monthly subscription fee so it "probably" wouldn't go down that route.
"We're aware that most shooter fans aren't used to a $15 monthly subscription fee so we probably won't go that way. We might go with free to play but with subscription for certain areas or certain events happening. Or a micro-transaction model and more of an advertising model," said O'Hara.
He added: "It's really important to us as a design team that it's not things that give you inherent advantages over other players. So it wouldn't be like we'd give the advanced shotgun and I'd have the regular shotgun. It would be more like your outfit might be a cooler looking outfit or you might have paid to get some missions other players might not get to, but they aren't story missions, so they don't influence people's progress through the main story or to get the highest rank of their character."
DefaultPrime writer Mike Patuleia takes a stroll down memory lane, looking at some PlayStation titles gone to the wayside that Sony should take a second look at bringing back into the fold with the advent of the PlayStation 4.
I'd like to see a Legend of Dragoon which features some flying, as well as some other things, but that's just me.
Heavenly Sword is always a given when these lists pop up.
I'd like to see a new Lair. That game could've been better than Drakengaurd (did is spell that right?), had it not been for the poor execution. But i know Sony wouldn't allow it.
Game was an unpolished gem. We'll prolly never see another game like it.... what a shame.
I would of prefered if Nariko would of somehow returned for the sequel, but you make a great point and I too would love to see a new protagonist.
Junkie Monkeys: With the PlayStation 4 set to release later this year we take a look at PlayStation 3 titles that should release on the PlayStation 4 instead.
my suggestion are these games; syphon filter, medievil, Lifeforce Tenka, G-Police, and wipeout
dark cloud 3
parappa reboot(platformer)
the legend of dragoon(probably the most requested sequel game)
jak 4
GOS: "As expected, Sony updated the Playstation Store today but what awaited me while I was browsing could either be a mistake on their part or an unintentional leak."
IF it is back on then great. I mean, even if it is not an MMO maybe it could make a great multiplayer esque FPS experience, maybe be a bit like Borderlands.
I fell micro transactions is the best formula for console MMO, I'm in an well known beta an I notice that console users aren't like computer users , console users see that you have acquire an item that they don't have and they rush to ask you where and how you acquired the item, so cause of this I fell that micro transition is a win win situation for consumers and companies alike.
