* My only complaint with the game is the requirement of playing with others online.

I want to play solo....and then for larger missions or quests then group up....like in an MMO.

I don't to 90% of the type be reliant upon other people. People aren't as nice to each other now as in years past and I'd rather not deal with idiots purposely trying to ruin things for people.

* I do love that you can steal treasure....so I'm not against that or enemies....but against being reliant upon those around you to succeed.

Rare is Rare is name only. When was the last time they made a truly great game? I mean Viva Pinata was good but thats their best game since MS bought them? Considering their output under Nintendo thats quite a fall from grace. They were the Naughty Dog of their time, they could do no wrong.

And this game looks dull. Thats just my opinion, Im not interested in multiplayer so others can have fun with it I admit, but I want a Rare quality campaign to play. Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Banjo,Conker, all had great campaigns. This looks like a free to play MP title.

In fact as soon as I saw it I thought immediately of Galleon it terms of graphics and style. Anyone play this back in the day? Especially the character models and stilted movement, it does not look like something from a company that was once top of the pile. Not saying the graphics look exactly like Galleon but they dont look like two generational leaps either. The game came out in 2004 on XboxOG.

this is basically a large arena pvp/coop game, no story that i know of, you basically just take a ship around, maybe shoot some other ships, swim to a nearby island with not much to do. repeat. i'm a bit worried at this game if it releases so soon and there is not much in the way of actual stuff to do.

it does draw some similarities to NMS in gameplay , except they haven't really promised us much, just shown us driving a ship around, digging up a treasure, taking it back to the ship, then shooting some boats and other pirates.

the visuals and sound are really good though.

The game looks fun but the bearing gifts jokes got corny real fast. Running around playing musical instruments while your ship is being ripped apart was lame as well. I just wish they would have showed combat between the two ships instead of wasting time. Just my opinion but that wasn't the best presentation for me. Oh well still buying it day one. I'll just not play music while my ship is being destroyed and actually have my team fire back.

It looks like they were having fun, which you can't take that away from them. The art style is vibrant and cartoony, which compliments that fun, making it accessible. I don't see this being a sleeper hit, but at least it's different.

I get that you make a group of friends, get a ship and go find treasure (potentially being intercepted by other pirates). But what else is there?
