Entertainment Buddha | Indie platformers have been seeing somewhat of a resurgence in the past couple of years. Limbo brought us a unique art style and great story telling without the use of many words. Most recently we saw the release of Inside, which is the successor to Limbo, which played with your mind while keeping the charming platforming gameplay. Now it is 2017 and we are treated with another Limbo-like platformer by the name of, Toby: the Secret Mine. I guess I should’ve prefaced this by telling you guys that I love these kind of games and could probably play them start to finish in one sitting. Unfortunately, doing so would make me pass up the beauty that is Toby: the Secret Mine.
WTMG's Leo Faria: "If you treat Toby: The Secret Mine as a little appetizer to saciate your Limbo-loving needs instead of a brand new big contender on the genre, you'll most likely end up liking this game. It's stupidly short and nowhere near as exciting as its source of inspiration, as it suffers from subpar level designs and an overall lack of "oomph", but it's a cheap and inoffensive pasttime while you're on a small flight or waiting for a movie to begin."
