10-hour trial of Mass Effect: Andromeda for Access subscribers details

Xbox Tavern reports that EA have revealed a 10 hour trial for Origin Access and EA Access members for Mass Effect Andromeda. To commence five days prior to launch.

Yup. EA Access is awesome and I'm glad we get it on Xbox One. You also get 10% discount on digital games by EA. The membership almost pays for itself and then some.

Now we just need Xbox Play Anywhere to round it all out.

Ten hours will be a great amount of time to determine a full purchase or not. I don't have or want EA Access, but paying $5 to demo is what some people want.

That's incorrect. You pay for EA Access to get Early Access, 10 hours of complete game trial time (not a stripped down demo), a ton of EA games that are added to the Vault, as well as a 10% discount on any EA digital purchases. You don't have to try to spin it as a demo fee. The fact is that it's a great offer and deal, and if you're smart you'd pay $29.99 for the year instead of $5.99 a month.

I thought you payed like 20-30$ for a year and got a vault chuck full of good games plus discounts plus early access?
Plus the "demo" carries over if you intended to play the game and you get a discount if you intended to buy the game.

Am I wrong?

Some people want the ability to demo new games. I didn't say that's all they wanted. I didn't say anything negative about EA Access at all. I just said that some people want it for demoing new games. That doesn't mean that's all it is, but that's a reason people want it.

Calm down people. When someone agrees with you, you don't need to jump down their throat just because they didn't list out every single feature of the subscription.

While demos used to be free. Many times demos where not the actual game.
And demos never let you keep your progress...that i can recall.

You also didnt get 25+ games for free with 5$ a month or 30$ a year.

This is good news! Mass effect was one of my favorite franchise last gen (along with uncharted) and was actually the reason purchased an Xbox! It was exclusive to xbox at the time and felt like the definitive experience playing it on xbox with save files being carried over from each game.

however, what i've seen of mass effect andromida so far has me on the fence, it doesn't look as good as the previous mass effect games so being able to try for 10hrs before i play is a nice option.

Never got around to playing ME3.. I want to play it before I play Andromeda. Think I will get EA Access on my pc in March to play ME3, and the trial for Andromeda to see if I want to make a purchase. Not bad for $5 I think. Really wish this was available on all platforms.
