Why Limited Run Feels the Nintendo Switch Will Appeal to Vita Owners

Limited Run’s Josh Fairhurst recently addressed an interesting question, explaining why he feels the Nintendo Switch may be an appealing platform for PS Vita owners.

Although 3DS converted a lot of former PSP owners because of Monster Hunter, I don't see what strategy Nintendo could use to convert the remaining Vita owners to NS

True, I feel like Vita owners MAY be open to the 3DS, but the Switch? Not so much. I think it's interesting that Limited Run chose to pass up the opportunity to make 3DS games in favor of Switch titles. I hope they do the smart thing and keep making Vita games, rather than dropping everything on the Switch.

Well if they port DKS1 and 2 to it,.. I am getting it,.. Vita or not,.. Though really don't see what Vita has to do with it,..

Vita itself is one of the best design systems ever made,.. Just a beautiful machine all around,.. Only wish it had mechanic triggers instead of back touch pad,... and that prices of memory cards were more reasonable, but as far as I am concern Vita is life.

Well, Limited Run Games are known for creating physical releases for PS Vita. Now that they're opening the door to the Switch, I think they want to justify their position by comparing the two systems, even though it's apples to oranges unless you're strictly talking about the mobility/indie game factor.

I'm a vita owner and it appeals to me. :)

It'll be a bit like the vita but (very likely!) with more support, which can't be a bad thing!

Same here! The things I like the most about my Vita are indie and japanese games: in both regards, it seems like the Switch is going to end up carrying Vita's torch into the future (plus Nintendo first party offers!). We're already seeing the announcement of some indie and japanese games that Vita couldn't get but are completely in line with the platform output until now:
- The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ (devs tried, but Vita could only get Rebirth... still one of the best games on the platform!)
- I Am Setsuna (this one was released on Japan, but was PS4 only in EU/NA. some people called bad loading times as the reason for this game not being released on the western markets)
- Disgaea 5 (Vita had 3 and 4, but 5 was only on PS4, supposedly because of Vita's limitations)
- Yooka Laylee (was never on the cards for the Vita, it's nice to measure the type of game that will be possible to achieve with the Switch)
- Stardew Valley (confirmed for the Switch, still has a shot of coming to the Vita though)

In many regards, it's like a Vita 2, but being made by Nintendo. I like the potential, because Sony always have multiple projects and they end up not giving the necessary investment to some of those projects. Nintendo will have this as their next main platform, so at the very least I should expect this to be "like PS Vita, but better". I'm on board!
