Sony AU Had a Merry Christmas

Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft have each claimed decisive victories on the retail battleground over the 2006 holiday period, but no-one can question that the PS2 is still performing strongly in the market.

According to a back-patting release from Sony Australia, the company feels they have positioned themselves well for a March 2007 PS3 launch. This should go some way towards quelling fears of a further delay for the Australian launch of Sony's next console.

According to the release, Sony's PlayStation2 and PSP platforms held a 42% share of the total console hardware market for Q4 period. Further, despite the arrival of new next generation home consoles in 2006, the seven year old PlayStation 2 enjoyed 56% of home console hardware sales in the last quarter according to market research group GfK.

I said this yesterday. AI isn't what we want when it comes to crafting artistry. Alas, these soulless corporate morons don't care about their work, only about cutting corners as much as possible.
